WHy is the meeting tonight, though?  Why didn't we have this meeting this morning.

Lol fr. Is Danny flying to Al tonight then flying back to KD tomorrow?
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

you vs. the guy she tells you not to worry about

I'm getting my hopes up too much. I REALLY want Al.

Yep. With or without Durant, it'll be a huge blow to not get Horford now. In everything from playing style to character he is a perfect fit.

I also think our KD pitch is much more enticing if we already have Horford on board.

Why would we want Horford without KD, though. We could win a title with Horford? I don't see it.

If thats the logic then theres only about 5 players in the NBA that makes us instant contenders for the title. If thats what your looking for then sit back and relax cause it could be a while. Horford is a big upgrade over any big we have.

Is Horford an UFA? Basically he can sign and it's a done deal or could Atlanta match it?

There is a lot of talk about getting Horford to pair with Durant.  But Durant is staying in OKC in all likelihood so without Durant, why would Horford want to come to Boston?

OK, so he would be an upgrade over Sullinger, at least until he suffer another major injury, but that is not saying much.  I am not sure Horford makes sense for us.
WE're a 48 win team without him.  Adding Horford should push us over 50 wins.  We're a nasty defensive team.  We're still lacking in interior defense, though.  Adding Horford would make a dangerous defensive team even more dangerous.  Should be one of the 3 best defenses in the league next season just by adding him.

But the C’s still want to come out of this period with a center.

Where would Horford play, the 4 or the 5? I thought I remembered reading that he didn't want to play center.

Agree with what others are saying. I think Horford is a good player not worth the money he will get but none of these guys are except Durant, which will hopefully be the second domino! ;)

Oh man hope Danny seals it and we fly him out to the Hamptons with IT that'd be huge.

I hope to read tonight:
Al Horford and the Boston Celtics have reached agreement on a max contract deal

It was also reported that Howard "connected" with Atlanta today, too. They don't have room for both Horford and Howard, so Howard to Atlanta would make Horford to us very likely.
Recovering Joe Skeptic, but inching towards a relapse.

Horford should absolutely be brought on regardless of what happens with Durant.

Breaking: Kevin Durant cancels all meetings after meeting with the Celtics. Sources say Durant was highly intrigued by the prospect of playing alongside Isaiah Thomas and al horford. Thunder officials are worried and have not been able to reach Durant since their meeting with him on Thursday in Oklahoma.

What you do here is lock up Horford immediately with a max offer. Use your cap space  leverage. Then go to Durant meeting armed with Horford.

Reading the Herald link, looks like Danny is doing exactly that tonite. Good luck, Danny. Come back with Horford.

Only thing I'm nervous about is Horford not agreeing to a deal because he wants to see if OKC can clear enough cap to sign him along with retaining Durant. Other than that, I can't see any other team being a contender for him than we are with Atlanta looking likely to sign Howard and Houston looking into giving Bazemore big money.
