Jaylen Brown--He will contribute right away off the bench, behind Crowder.  Will play off Olynyk very well.  I have a great confidence that he is going to be a very good player.

Yabusele--I have gone from "who?" to "wow!" after reading up and watching video. Love this pick.

Zizik--Fran Fraschilla called it a steal, loves him. I respect his knowledge. This kid has the makings of Tristan Thompson, great hustle, defender, rebounder, non-stop motor. Love this pick.

Trade to Memphis--Still scratching my head. Gamble is that it will turn into a mid 1st round pick in a stronger draft. But I'd rather have taken two draft and stashes--including Zubak.  Thought this was a miscalculation.

Jackson---Steal.  He is so athletic, should give Rozier competition for minutes, which is a good thing.

Bentil--Know nothing about him, but locals seem to endorse it, so that's good for me.

I have gone from disappointment to feeling really good in 12 hours.  We can address another shooter and shot blocker in FA, and in a couple of years, we will be dangerous.

A great draft? I can't wait until 2019 or 2020. I need improvement now. That didn't happen. Terrible.

I need a player that can play this year from a trade of all of the assets then I need a couple free agents. I got what 5 - 2020 projects and a 2019 lottery protected pick from the Clippers.

Indiana got Teague & Thaddeus Young for almost nothing.

So you want a team that loses in the ECF to the defending champions?

I would rather have a team that competes and loses to the champs in the ECF than a team that loses in the 1st round every year and just repeats mediocrity.

Teams that aren't willing to wait and be patient find themselves in the lottery over and over again.

Thanks for this. Can you sell me on Zizic, I know you are a big fan of his. Do you think he can defend the pick and roll in the NBA (either by dropping down and protecting the rim or switching onto wings)? On offense can he play in the pick and roll or is more of a strictly offensive rebounder on offense?
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

Of course.  But if only the first round exit team has assets to improve with, it's clearly the better option.  ECF appearances are useless if you don't have any means of improvement
I'm bitter.

Except this team is trying to build something sustainable and bigger, while that ECF team would top out as nothing more than a conference finalist.

By the time we get to something bigger and sustainable I may not be alive. And I am sure by then LeBron will be gone and we will be trying to get past the bigger and more sustainable 76ers.

You want to feel good about it. That is how you can change so quickly. Believe what you want, but Delusional Danny was supposed to pick the third best player in the draft. I am willing to bet he did not come close.

Good way to think of it.  We drafted Jackson and Bentil and 31 and 35, and traded 45 and 51 for a future first.  Genius!

Zizic was mocked as high as 16 in some versions, so pretend he was the 16 pick and GY 23.  Then all those complaining that Danny didn't pick according to their Dx rankings will be happier.  It's actually much like last year.

I'm happy with this draft, thanks for a positive thread.

On paper, I think they made out pretty well. Brown is a risk but high ceiling type player.

The 2 Euro's who knows? They are both young and seem to have certain characteristics the C's were looking for. They could be solid rotation guys.

Jackson/Bentil everyone is saying were steals at those spots. Who knows. Rozier/Mickey have competition now. Worst case, the D league team has a stacked roster lol.
