I'm a bit disappointed. The media had us believe Danny had all the leverage drafting Dunn, the kid everybody wanted. Philly had caved in, and were now offering Noel + Covington + #1 + the Liberty Bell for Dunn. Sounded good to me.  Expectations were high they would finally fill that center spot with a guy who can jump and play defense.

But it was not to be. Instead, Ainge picked Jaylen Brown, an athletic 3 with questionable shooting ability. Though he took grad courses in his year at Berkeley, so maybe he can learn how to shoot.

Thon Maker went at #10. A lottery pick. KG look-a-likes who can shoot go fast, even if they played for Oakmont Junior High.

Those 16 and 23 picks look like bangers who can add some testosterone up front that's sorely needed. And I like that Providence kid with the 4 body who can shoot the lights out.

But the real issue with many fans was the #3. Did they miss the opportunity to get Noel, a guy who seemed an ideal 5 for their game? Or even that big OKC shot blocker? Was Danny creative enough in this draft?

Ainge spent years hoarding all those draft picks. And now it seems he has trouble even giving them away.

It was as expected but I was hoping for more.

Hoping for a trade for an established star.
