  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
Anyone else loving this pick?
Yabusele looks really, really solid.
He can defend switches, attack closeouts and hit the 3, and has the strength of a gorilla and NBA length at 7'1" with 8'11" standing reach and great agility guarding the perimeter.
He is our version of Draymond Green IMO.

Read the euro stash comments but I can see him coming in andaying immediately off the bench, especially if Sully/Zeller walk.

"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

I was intrigued when I first saw this kid. He's like if Sullinger ever worked hard.

Does anyone know his real weight? They Said 240 pounds today at the draft, but he's way bigger than that. Draftexpress said 270 pounds which sounds closer. He can jump at 270 pounds, if he can really hit three's at a high rate that will be hilarious.

I read that he gains and loses weight really fast.  Let's hope he goes the K Love route rather than the Sully route.

I like how finishes with authority in his highlight videos.  That's something Sully hasn't been able to do for years.

Keep him away from the western diet or else he will end up like Sullinger

Someone on Reddit said something pretty cool. He said yabusele is a Randle with a J
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

you vs. the guy she tells you not to worry about

From the eye test, he looks like a more athletic and mobile Sully. Which improves on some of Sully's negatives. Still, I don't know if he will be able to keep up with the pace of the NBA. I don't know if I am just being cynical, but in the highlights where he is hitting 3s, his body language kind of hints that he is settling due to being tired.

I do think he can be an energy guy off he bench though. Given DA's track record of drafting poorly in the teens, this might not be one of those terrible pick.

I'm impressed how agile he is despite being fat.

  • I'm a Paul Heyman guy.
Larry Johnson look a like.

If he consistently hit threes, he has a place in Boston.

Yoki, he can flat out shoot the basketball...42.6 from 3 and 76.5 from the line.

You had me at 42.6%. Can't wait to see him play. It's mesmerizing to see a player that big but so agile.

I read that he really impressed in workouts.

He's in a good place to improve defensively, which seems to be the main question mark, too.

he's about to do the Yab on the haters!

Dab may be played out when he comes over (probably is now lol) so I may just go with Yabu.  :P ;D
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

Reminds me a bit of Glen Davis before he gained those last 50 lbs...

Love this pick. The guy literally reminds me a little of Charles Barkley just from his sheer power. If there's one thing that always translates to the NBA it would be rebounding. Not only can he rebound, but he is a plus athlete, he can actually step out and hit the jumpshot. We got a real steal with this guy. Honestly as far as talent goes he would have been easily a top 14 pick in this draft if not for his relatively unknown status as a prospect. Celtics fans are p---ed, but have no idea who the guy is. Was he a surprise pick? Yes, but it doesn't me he's a bust.
