I just want that 13th so dang bad, and we have #23 or #31 as a sweetener as well. Kelly's contract is almost up, do you really want to pay him big dollars, or would you rather have a rock solid prospect like Sabonis or high Upside guys like Deyonta Davis or Skal.

If we can keep #16 we could come away with Murray, Sabonis and Valentine. That would bring lots of rebounding, shooting and passing to this team

Honestly my only problem with Kelly is his injury history.  When he is on the floor healthy he really helps us.

We don't need another pick unless it's packaged for a veteran....

Agree with this, although the other problem I have with Kelly is his lack of defensive presence.  In other words, he's soft as hell.  His positional defense has improved since his rookie year, but he's still a liability in PnR and in defending stronger and/or more athletic players individually.

We do play some of our best ball with him the center spot.  He was shooting the 3 with great confidence this year, shooting > 40% before his injury.  We need his offensive versatility - with the way the current roster is constructed, at least - as evidenced by our horrific offensive output against the Hawks.  He clearly wasn't 100% when he did finally get on the floor.

Tough call.  Not sure I'd trade him for #13, but I'd certainly include him in a deal for an established star.

That would be a blatant ripoff for us, imo.  No way is KO worth 13, but if Phoenix is dumb enough to do it, please god let it happen, lol ;D.

I doubt the other team would.   I still am mad we did not take the Greek Freak that year.

I would consider packaging Kelly and #16 to move into the top #10 to get Poeltl, or if Brown or Hield fell down further than anticipated, but otherwise, no thanks.  Olynyk provides a lot of quality minutes, and I'm not terribly frightened of his free agency.  I will never understand the concept some fans have of fearing losing players as free agents.  It happens sometimes.  There's no need to trade useful players a year before their contracts end because you want to get value -- especially if a team is trying to be competitive.  I'd bet that Olynyk will provide more value (in terms of win shares or VORP) than whomever is drafted #13 will provide over four seasons combined.  He's worth holding onto.

Olynyk will never be a star, nor do I think he'll necessarily be starting-caliber, but he is a great role player. I think that alone is reason enough to keep him over ANOTHER rookie who won't get minutes (the C's already have 20 picks this draft). Also a guy like Sabonis won't make the team any better than Olynyk; he'll get pushed around on defense just as much.

I do like the prospect of packaging him to move up in the draft though, cause then you're more likely to find a solid player.

I think this is a bad idea. There is a good chance you pick a player that is not as good as Kelly at that spot. I'd rather have the known than the unknown.

Last year We were 3rd to last in 3 point percentage and 2nd to last in the playoffs.. Giving up K.O. One of our best 3 point shooters doesn't seem logical.

Agreed in terms of wanting 13, but Murray, Sabonis, and Valentine bring next to no defense, although Sabonis is probably the best of the three, which isn't saying much, lol ;D. Why not just trade IT for 13?

For perspective, before KO the last ten #13 picks were Kendall Marshall, Markieff Morris, Ed Davis, Tyler Hansbrough, Brandon Rush, Julian Wright, Thabo Sefolosha, Sean May, Sebastian Telfair and Marcus Banks.

Danny traded up to 12 or 13 to get Olynyk, and I think it was a mistake. So I'd trade him for 13.

KO is the smallest 7 footer in the league. He shoots outside and passes well, but he can't do the things that 7 footers are expected to do--like rebound, block shots and play defense. You watch him, and he never seems to get off the ground. Doesn't jump very well. Not great around the basket.

I doubt they will extend him if they can upgrade up front in the next month. They need an overhaul up front if they expect to get better. His 3P shooting isn't enough.
