We can agree that we all love our team in the last 2 seasons. They play fast pace, great defense and play with determination. Great coach also. We all agree things are going well.

I fall in love with this team and their play and now i would rather have DA contunue to build the same way. If Celtics sign or trade for all star veterans it will be like in 2007, the whole team will change. But than the 2006 team sucked. Now 2016 team made the playoff with young players and have high first round pick plus lot of other picks.

If we don't have fireworks this summer i wouldn't be dissapointed at all, i would enjoy it

It's like the difference between being a fan of a hugely popular and critically acclaimed TV show as opposed to a show on basic cable that you love but know isn't really that good.

I have enjoyed the Celts the last couple of years in much the same way as I enjoyed watching, say, Psych.

But I still spend time watching and thinking about other teams, like the Warriors. During the playoffs, the Celts are almost an afterthought. Because the big time show is getting good. The Warriors are the show that you talk about with friends and family.  Game of Thrones.

Im looking forward to when the Celts are a big deal again, must-see-TV.  It's like the Garnett Era was Lost. Awesome at the start, sometimes squirrelly and disappointing, and it probably lasted too long. The ending kinda sucked. But it was a really enjoyable ride.  I want to feel like that again, like the Celts are relevant. Part of the conversation.

In the meantime, though, we have our fun little basic cable show. It's nice, and worth a watch and a laugh. But if this lasts for five or six seasons, or even more, I think we may wonder what we've been doing with our time.

We can get there. Warriors and Thunder were build throught the draft. 3rd pick might end up future all star. I believe Celtics will be relevant again soon either way

I know Ainge will always search for trades that will make Boston better; plus he always wins trades so that's a nice bonus.

Also very excited for the amount of draft picks Ainge has acquired to reload the Celtics franchise and bring it back to glory.

This season I'd say the key players on the team were Thomas, crowder, Amir, Bradley, Turner, Smart, Sullinger, and Olynyk.

In three years, how many of those guys will still be here? Will they still be good? How about in five?

That's my test for an up and coming team. The Celts are young, sure, but most of that youth is in the form of draft picks (total mystery box) and guys who have barely played so far.

Going from that list above, it seems to me the Celts long term core is Jae crowder, who is locked up long term. He's decent, and will be at the end of his prime after his current contract.

The other piece is Smart. Still tough to say what caliber of player he will be in the league long term.

Aside from those two, it's draft picks and guys we haven't really seen play, like rozier and Mickey. Maybe you could add in Olynyk, but I see him as a useful bench guy who is a decent bet to get traded or maybe just overpaid to start somewhere else.

Isaiah will be thirty in three years and he will want a max deal when his current one is up. I would be concerned for the Celts if they sign him to such a deal for his early thirties.

So bottom line, I don't entirely agree with looking at the Celts as a young team on the rise. Certainly they have the draft assets to make that happen. But there is no guarantee whatsoever it'll work out that way. The young centerpiece talents just aren't here yet. We can hope that number three and the Brooklyn picks the next two years will become that, but it's worse than a coin flip odds that it'll happen that way.

I like to believe that Celtics can win title without superstars. Unlikely, but i like to believe it. Similat like last Pistons title. They had all stars but not superstars. Plus with the 3rd pick and future Nets picks i like to believe we will draft allstar in the next 2 years.

Probably it won't happen what i think, but i would love if something like that happens.

And for our young guys, they are all part of the puzzle, don't expect them to improve a lot. Still valuable qualitty guys who most importantly fit the system. I kind of rank players but how good at winning are, because Carmelo is fantastic but couldn't even get the Knicks to the playoffs. The guys we have are tough winning guys who fit the system

Carmelo has taken some pretty mediocre teams to the playoffs in his career, but I get your point. I just think the Melo hate goes a bit overboard every now and then.

48 wins indicates a team on the rise to me.

This team IMO, is Breaking Bad. First season and a half or two it was kinda slow but you saw something interesting that was enough to keep your attention. Then it just kicks it up a notch out of nowhere and becomes the GOAT TV series. That's where this team is headed.

We have a coaching staff that has created legitimate players out of previous cast-offs such as IT, Crowder and ET... these are now coveted players around the league capable of pulling in early to mid 1st round picks.

Im excited to see what they can do with a legitimate All-Star talent such as Bender or Hield and even more excited for next year's Nets pick now that the 76ers have abandoned the process and Lakers are in full on spend mode... it could easily be the number one pick next year!!!

The only players I would be interested in sacrificing this for is DMC or Paul George... all else are meh...

I'm kinda skeptical the Brooklyn pick falls to #1. I can see the Lakers tanking the system one more time since they missed out on Ben Simmons. Even if Brooklyn finishes last I can see LA getting the #1 over Boston. But I do think the draft is deep enough next year to get a top athlete

Lakers will need to send their pick to Philly next year. They got lucky that it didn't fall outside the top 3 this year. By all accounts, they seem like they want to make a trade or FA acquisition to start moving in a winning direction, although the playoffs are still a ways off.

If they did make the decision to tank next year and managed to get another top 3 pick, the 2019 pick that is owed to the Magic will then turn into two 2nds. That would be a real bummer for us [because we hate the Lakers].

I love this team so much that I remain patient.
Best teams with long windows (GSW, SAS, OKC, CLE) are usually made through the draft.
We are also making the playoffs, that helps too.

Somebody on this team needs to break out (like Jimmy Butler) and I think it could be Marcus Smart. Or maybe it's this year's 3rd pick. That'll leave us with IT, a homegrown star, and then I think trading for or signing a 3rd star gets easier from that point.
