I love IT.  I love his ability to score.  There has been a couple late game  TO he has made that upset me, but he has also made some late game big plays....But we  But I would love for him to come off the bench and be 6th man of the year next year.

Brad says if they trade the pick it would have to be an impactful player.   IT can score, and our second unit needs some bench scoring.

What about brining in a guy like Brandon Knight.   Would that even be an option. If PHX is really in love with Bender they might be willing to move him for him...and keep the 4th pick.  Knight is on a pretty good deal and have Bledsoe coming back.   Crazy as it might seem we could move #3, #16 and #23 for Knight and 13.  Move It to the Bench.

Having Knight would be like insurance if Turner gets a big pay day.   Having IT, T Rozier to fill in for the PG duties would be okay.

If ET walks, then go after Barnes and a Center or use #13 on a big.....

Thoughts?

No. IT earned his spot, he won us games, and he's really the only guy who can shoot from the out side and create his own shot right now. The starting line up would be sluggish like it was in the beginning of the season until Smart went down and It took over.

If you want offense from the second until, swap AB and Smart. AB would light it up against bench players and eat them up on the defense.

I agree 100% we need him to help the offense.  But if the impact player was a PG and upgrade over IT.  Him coming off the bench would be okay with me.  His Ego would be tested.   But if his scoring stayed the same...maybe its a good move.

PHX probably could get more than #3, #16 and #23.   But if not.... who knows.

Isaiah Thomas is a better point gaurd than Brandon Knight in my book.

IT is the starting point guard for this team for the foreseeable future.

With Turner likely gone, we need to get Smart going this season. If that means moving Isaiah to the 6th man role (while still giving him the minutes he needs), and starting Marcus, I'm down.

Marcus needs more time on the ball. Knight would be useless here.
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

you vs. the guy she tells you not to worry about

I dont see any universe where Phoenix gets even close to #3, 16, and 23.

We have an all-star, shoot-first PG and your solution for the team is to move him to the bench and trade for a different shoot-first PG but one that isn't necessarily better than the one we have?

You're going to bench your all star PG? I think last year proved that IT is a good starter. Maybe not a #1 or 2 guy, but could be the 3rd wheel on a great team.

I'm not moving IT to the bench for Brandon Knight. IT is much better in my eyes. Why move our All Star point guard to the bench to replace him by a snub?

He just was voted the 8th best guard in the league by his peers, made the all-star game and almost single handedly won us a playoff game with like 40 points. Is there really any reason people want him off the bench besides his height?

If you think of great bench scorers over the 10 years that won the 6th man of the year (Crawford, Smith, Jason Terry, Mike Miller, Lou Williams you notice that none of them are in the same league as IT as a playmaker. The only guys that was more of a playmaker was Odom and he spent a lot of time starting. Personally I think the IT to the bench threads are among the most embarrassing topics on this forum.

Excellent idea.  In fact, this is my dream second unit:

IT, Bradley, Crowder, Sullinger, Amir

Thomas was the best offensive player on the C's by a mile last year. It would be a mistake to move him to the 6th man. I think he would immediately demand a trade and he would be justified in doing so.

Our starting offense without IT would be a black hole of despair. Starting every game in a hole because you can't score isn't a recipe for winning.

Before last season I thought he belonged in the 6th man role, but after watching him lead the team this year I'm surprised people still hold that opinion.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

It is an ALL STAR Yes....   My point is if we upgrade the PG position we could move IT to the bench.   IT would not move the needle much, but improve our bench a lot.   It is not crazy since Brad wanted

He is the best player on our team.  He made the All Star team based on us being a strong team in the East.   Our team is a team of solid role players with an All - Star that excels in 1/2 aspects of the game.    He is a defensive liability that would be an awesome player off the bench for a team like the Cavs, Spurs, Thunder, Clippers, Raptors and they all went further than us is in the play offs.

Trading the #3 for an impactful player meant Knight I would be happy.  I'd rather address the SF, PF or Center but if that was on the table I would think real hard.

And Brad would start the guy he wanted.   If that meant Knight or IT off the bench I'd feel confident our bench scoring would go up and we would win more games this next year.    I would bet the farm on that......    Knight > #3 all day long.
