Ian Mahinmi could be the guy. Had a great season in Indy, and we should be able to sign him for a lot cheaper than a big name like Dwight.
Or we could have drafted Myles Turner and been set for over a decade. BTW Turner isn't 100% he needs 1 more year before his gait and hips and glutes are corrected......scary.

I loved Mosgov last year and wondered if he could one day have .. Like a poor man's Rik Smits type level of effectiveness. But guess hasn't been a great year.

Offering the max to already established players is not good enough to build a contender - unless ofc the contender he is a top-20 player.

Of the players in the list, only Horford and Whiteside are in the top-20 cat, and even they are borderline cases. I would still have doubts about offering Horford the max, his career seems to have reached the point where it starts to decline; as for Hassan he is unreliable esp. since he will be trusted with a fat contract for the first time in his career.

Someone like Noah (or Pau for that matter) would be fun to have in a team that already is a contender: good value for money, veteran savviness and experience. But I don't see much point in adding a player like that to a young team: these players want to close well their career with a deep playoff run, they usually mix badly with players in their early-to-mid-twenties who are still learning how to survive in the league.

So we are left with Ezeli, Mahinmi, Mozgov, Biyombo. None of them is worth the max IMO but some of them will get it (Biyombo has good chances if keeps playing like he did in game 3 against the Cavs; Ezeli has a good reputation in the league too). From my perspective it all depends on the money and length of contract they will ask for; I would stay away from getting in an auction for mediocre (or at any rate, not 100% established) talent.

tl;dr Mahinmi or Mozgov

I like Ezeli, but he's most likely staying with the Warriors.

Considering Turner was drafted before we picked, and Ainge unsuccessfully tried to trade up, I don't know how we could have drafted Turner.

I think we might trade for one or try too.

Probably saying that we should have missed the playoffs last year rather than got swept by the Cavs. It's hard to disagree with that sentiment now, but it was fun watching our young team with new acquisitions hit an upward trajectory so quickly.

I still have decent hopes for Rozier, but he isn't our big man of the future.

I would love to see Meyers Leonard in green.  With the Trail Blazers' acquisition of Noah Vonleh (and already having Plumlee on the roster), Portland may be willing to part with Leonard.

Considering how much I think some of these guys would cost, I'd rather have Sully than most of these guys except for maybe Whiteside. If that sounds ridiculous, then I honestly understand given Sully's problems.

If I could pick in general, I'd like to have Noel for obvious reasons.

Bismack Biyombo.

The most mobile,  actively engaged center in the list. He plays like Ben Wallace and to a certain extent like Rodman. Very good and strong finisher on the rim. Blocks shots well.

  • Eagerly Awaiting the Next Fantasy Draft
I think they will give every opportunity for Amir/KO to open up as our starting bigs. I think it's time for KO to start playing 30 minutes a night.

If we do, decide to go the free agent route, it seems like there is a very strong class. I'd be happy with Biyombo, Noah,  Ezeli, Mozgov or Mahinmi.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19
