Last night Mike Gorman alluded to the fact that Austin Ainge has spent quite a bit of time overseas scouting international players. I assume they've done their homework on Bender.

Im not sure what makes you say this. I trust Ainge. I dont know nearly enough about Bender to really evaluate him. I know hes tall. Thats really about it.

Ive got no idea what to expect from Bender. If I was in charge of making the pick I wouldnt pick him for that reason, but I cant rule him out. We just dont know enough.

Yeah, I remember that. If these reports are true, then I would expect Ainge to be a lot less willing to overpay for an established player, then he would if he didn't like Bender and considering the other draft options (Murray, Dunn, and Hield) are redundant to our current pieces.

this  is going to be a long wait until the draft.   I wish I was GM so i could just shut out the tv until then and know who I want.

I think Bender is the real deal.  People are underestimating his toughness.  He looks like a 7 foot skinny kid.  But he doesn't look like Roger Federer for no reason.  He's  going to be good.

the media is going to spin this as trading the pick until then.....  There were so many rumors flying when we took Marcus too.
