  • Peace it's a board. We all will never agree.
I think all posts that have Durant coming here should be wiped off the face of the planet at this point.

Yeah, we should all be disappointed in how these playoffs are playing out for OKC.
Personally I think it is great. If Durant and Westbrok stay together. It blocks more teams from rising.  Griffin and Cousins may come our way if OKC and GSW rule the roost. KD would not have signed with Boston IMO and now we have a shot a two good players. Horford will stay in the ATL.
"People look at players, watch them dribble between their legs and they say, 'There's a superstar.'  Well John Havlicek is a superstar, and most of the others are figments of writers' imagination."

i don't see how signing (or not signing) Horford impacts our chances of luring KD. I mean, is KD tantalized by the thought of moving to the Hawks? I mean, they did just beat us in the 1st round and seem like a star player away from being a true contender.

There have been some rumors that Horford and Durant were interested in playing with each other.  I don't think it's a very strong pull, myself.  But as I've noted, the Hawks have room to sign both if they want.  That said, I think as an organization that has shown competence over the years, the Celtics come out better than the Hawks, a single playoff series notwithstanding.

The Hawks have won 3 playoff series the last two seasons.  Boston has won just 2 playoff games during that span.  And isn't entirely a fluke as the Hawks have made the playoffs for 9 straight seasons remaking virtually the entire team in that span (Horford is the only constant).  That said, the Hawks are the epitome of a treadmill team right now.  This is the critical summer for them.
