Paul breaking his hand is about as lucky of a break as Golden State could possibly have gotten. Without Paul, the Warriors won't need Curry to advance to the Finals.

If Portland makes the second round of the playoffs this season, that will really be something.

I thought the matchup between the two teams with CP3 there.

Without CP3, GSW is the firm favourite.

For sure. GS is more talented and more cohesive, especially with Blake and Redick banged up. Better coached, too.

Fully healthy Clips vs. GS without Curry, I take the Clippers. Curry is so hugely important. However, LA can't survive their best player being out and their next two offensive weapons being injured.

KP / Giannis / Turkuglu / Jrue / Curry
Sabonis / Brand / A. Thompson / Oladipo / Brunson
Jordan / Bowen

It's such a bummer that so many playoff series and even titles are won by the " wrong" team as a result of injuries.

Where are these injuries in the Eastern Conference?

Think if LeBron and Horford/Milsap went down.  Think about the C's path to the Finals then.

That's the only way most of our fantasies will come to fruition this year, except it's all happening in the Western Conference.  It's like your neighbor winning the lottery.

After 18 months with their Bigs, the Littles were: 46% less likely to use illegal drugs, 27% less likely to use alcohol, 52% less likely to skip school, 37% less likely to skip a class

It's fine.  We'll get to the conference finals where thanks to the Pacers and Hornets we'll get home-court, and then to the finals vs the Warriors, whereupon Curry will get hurt in game 1 thanks to the effort the C's make him play with.  Avery will be back for enough of the series vs. the Cavs that we won't need an injury to them.  I'm excited to see Ty Lue try to adjust to some of the lineups Stevens throws at him.

Go Celtics!

let's be honest, every title won by someone other than the Celtics is the "wrong" team.

Wow, went to bed early last night, just seeing this.  HUGE break for the Warriors (and the Blazers of course).  Shame to see a marquee 2nd round matchup missing its two best players.

Also, if he'd been playing in 1983 he'd be dressing for the next game because hand bones were magically not necessary with the toughness of spirit guys had in the good old days.

Just makes me sad.

Was looking forward to the second round in the west a lot.

If Griffin's quad aggravation is bad, Portland is going to win this series.

Yeah it's been an incredible regular season, too bad the playoffs are losing some luster with stars dropping out.  It's crazy to see the West as the less competitive conference so far, and losing some 2nd round competitiveness now too.

They should just blow it up. Keep either Blake or Paul and trade JJ, Crawford, DJ and whoever else is worth something for young talent. I say keep one star(blake) cuz they have to have someone to be the face without making fans hate them.

Yeah, it's really too bad. Spurs-Thunder will be fun though. I just hope Curry won't be off when he comes back, would be such a bummer if he had a bad series vs the Spurs after his historical season. That said, I won't be mad to see Spurs vs Lebron again. Would love to see Duncan win another ring at LBJ's expense.
