The loss of AB is absolutely crippling. Even if his shot isn't falling, he's a player that can be counted on without question for energy and effort. His defense will be sorely missed against Teague and Shroeder, both of whom are certainly relieved that they won't have to face him for the rest of this series. Defenses also have to respect both his 3-point and midrange shot, something that none of our backup guards can offer.
Other posters are counting on Rozier to step up. I don't see it. Not because I'm pessimistic; rather, it's simply because I don't think he's ready. Most rookies aren't. Outside of a few flashes this season, Rozier hasn't shown that he's ready to play rotational minutes, much less in the postseason. I think he can play passable individual defense, and can contribute on rebounding the ball. Other than that, I don't rely on him to shoot consistently, make the proper reads on offense, and most importantly make the proper defensive rotations on team defense. He just hasn't had enough time.
Atlanta is a good team with a core that has played together for a while now. They deserve respect. If we were playing weaker team in Miami instead, I think we'd still have a chance.
