Woo come east Durant!

Them losing in the first round plus a come-from-behind victory in our series would literally create the perfect storm for Durant to come to Boston, let alone our cap space and high draft pick that we have!

Too bad he's going to the Warriors!  ;D

No way no how.   Durant is a competitor, how's he gonna be the best in the world if he takes a job carrying Curry's suitcase?    The golden state stuff is pure, uncut media speculation.   Nothing more.

1- Oklahoma
2- Boston
3- Washington

By all indications, that's his list.  If he leaves, he'd be crazy to stay in the west.

Wow, no Steph Curry and Houston still lost. Houston is embarrassing themselves.
Is it embarrassing?  Golden State without Curry is still the better team.  Houston is just barely a playoff team.

I think Houston are a top 5 team talent wise in the NBA. They are underachieving badly.

Golden State without Steph Curry is an inferior albeit still a good team (around 50 win caliber).

I expect Houston to beat GSW without Steph Curry.
I expect Houston to at least give GSW a game with Steph Curry.

They have completely failed in both respects. They have failed to play up to their talent levels. Even worse, they have failed to play with (1) effort (2) focus (3) discipline (4) self-belief. This is one of the worst mental failings I have seen from a playoff team. One with good talent on their roster at that.

They are an embarrassment.

Maybe it's a nitpick but I'd say GS without Curry is absolutely not an inferior team to Houston, they just have less individual talent.  But either way, yeah Houston has just been limping to the barn all season.

  • That's turrible
I'm really enjoying the Detroit-Cleveland series. I can't believe Stanly Johnson has already gotten into LeBrons head. He just bumped shoulders with him going back to the bench.

Stephen A Smith (on the day Durant made his Boston comments) said on first take that Washington was an option, but is definitely not being considered anymore.
He also said Boston isn't a top choice, but they aren't as unlikely as people make it out to be.

Stephen A (as much as many may hate him; I personally don't) is normally right with free agency stuff like this. Remember, he was the one who first said the Miami mega team was happening.
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

you vs. the guy she tells you not to worry about

I really like this Detroit team. They're like the offensive-oriented version of us. I'm hoping they can pull out these two games at home and make this a good series.

I like them too, though as near as I can tell they're about as different from the Celts as can be.   :P

The Celts could really use a massive rebounder inside, that's for sure.

  • GOT IT!!!
This Detroit/Cleveland series feels like the C's series last year. Pistons making mistakes down the stretch that cost them.

I was mainly meaning they're a scrappy, tough, young team like us, only more offensively-oriented rather than defensively-oriented. I love how they haven't backed down from Cleveland, though  it looks like they're not going to be able to get over that hump.

I think I kinda understood what you meant, but in terms of how they're constructed and how they run their offense, it's night and day.  Heh.

I like them, though.  Truthfully the "tall speedy point guard and rim running big man" spread pick and roll style is what I'd choose, if I were building a team from scratch with my pick of basic components.

Detroit just doesn't have the firepower to hang with a team like Cleveland.  Drummond isn't exactly 2009 Dwight on offense, and they don't have enough shooting.

The Pistons would have to be a top 5 defensive team to win playoff series with the offensive personnel they have, as much as I like their basic Reggie-Drummond PNR formula.

The Pacers and Raps have to be two of the most up-and-down teams in the league.  One night, awesome, the next night, hapless.

This is why the Raptors don't frighten anybody in the playoffs.  Even though I think they'll ultimately get past Indiana, their style and mentality just does not translate well to the playoffs.

Some team is going to max DeRozan. And while under the new cap given how he performs in the regular season he might be worth it, I'm glad it's not going to be the Celtics.
