Not sure HOW this effects Cousins in terms of a trade.

But ......at some point Kings need to settle on coach and quit the stupid firings trying to please Boogie .  The team is becoming a laughing stock to look seriously foolish .   Serious MGMt and personel problems

Not surprized to see him fired .  I figured he was not going to make it .  He wanted to trade Cousins and seemed to want to build his own team his way.  Obviously the owner still runs the show , even if he doesn't know squat about basketball

Never should have hired Karl in the first place.

Guard-friendly coach. Not a big man coach. Terrible choice for a team built around a center.
But he allowed Cousins to put up better numbers than any of his other coaches did.

Or he's just getting better?  And the pace helps get stats up of course.  They played at a very fast pace.

I don't know if he is a guards over bigs kind of guy but a fast pace can limit that.  However Cousins is a guy that faces up and drives and that kind of thing so he isn't out of place in a fast paced system.
Rondo probably helped also since he loves to rack up assists but not shoot.

Is this good or bad for the chances of trading for Cousins?  Think they'll finally move on?

It's more of a mess to a messy situation?  Hard to say.

I'm interested in the arena aspect of it.  It's a time where you think they could make a clean break (and get a top young pick from us) in a Cousins trade.  But they could also be afraid to get rid of by far their best player going to a new arena too.  I hope they move on, for Cousins sake, and I have to imagine Cousins can't be happy and may seriously ask to be traded.  Interesting seeing him left off so many awards for example at the end of the year here.  Can't leave him happy and I have to think he sees he could do better elsewhere.
Yeah I mean this isn't the first time they have replaced a coach that Cousins didn't get along with.  You'd think they'd both want a divorce from each other.   BUt on the other hand they might suggest that a new coach and a new arena is enough of a "fresh start".
Yep that's it.  And Cousins is good so it might not even be the final "fresh start" the Kings will give him.

No impact. I reckon SAC was firing Karl whether they kept Cousins or not.

Cousins may or may not be part of the way the solution going forward ... but George Karl sure as hell wasn't part of the solution.

The players in Sacramento must want to escape that nut house in the worst way. Even Cousins who is mentally unstable must want some new scenery.

this was inevitable
also makes no sense to trade cousins
as you build your team around your star not the coach

also they invested so much in bringing in rondo, bellineli, koufos, gay, collinson (these are solid players for kings- unlike previous seasons under the maloof bros)

unless, of course, you are the boston celtics.  ;)
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

We should hire him as an Assistant.

Why?  What would he add, other than drama?  He's a coach that a number of players hate.

Karl is a basketball junkie. He'll be bored at home and need to return. He'll be back.

Karl can still be a useful coach for someone. The fit here with Cousins was just terrible.

Do they?  I don't get the sense that he's a particularly unpopular player.

Rather have McHale sitting on the bench of Celtics than Karl

Ok, bear with this computer illiterate person who doesn't know how to cut and paste.

I just came across this quote from the Sacramentl Bee which says " Apart from Rondo, Cousins has few friends among teammates.  Several players have privately complained to management about his mood swings and disrespect for those around him, including coaches and in particular Karl."

I've read a bunch of stuff like that over the last couple years.  But of course you will first question the media source, then you will blame the other players and coaches, but never give any blame to Cousins.  I've heard Rudy Gay had big problems so you'll say Gay is the issue.  If all the other players have problems then the other players are to blame... Or the owner and coach for creating a bad atmosphere.

I get that you have a man crush on Cousins but you can't be so blind as to not assign him even a tiny bit of the blame for that team's issues.   And yes the kings are better when Cousins is on the court.  You've said it a hundred times.
