Smart should guard both of them for parts of the game, but they're bigger, high-scoring/high-usage wings who have 6-8 inches of height on Smart. I wouldn't start him at the three against those two teams, but I'd consider it against other teams like Toronto, Philly, and Orlando.

Tough news, especially when combined with Kelly still dealing with his injury. Celts are only a win or two ahead of the rest of the East playoff pack. No danger of falling out of the playoffs or anything, but this could be the difference between 3rd and 6th.

Apparently KO is looking to be back Tuesday, so that should help some with the scoring we'll miss with Crowder, though KO will need to work his way back a bit. I'm just worried about KO's mentality coming back, because he sounded a bit tentative the last several days about his play coming back.

Those high ankle sprains are a real Edited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline..

That's what basically messed up Smart's year last year. Never completely recovered from it....no lift.

Let him get better..as long as it takes.

yeah, the way they've talked about KO's injury doesn't instill me with much confidence in how he'll play when he returns.

Last season, we all thought we were done with the playoff race when IT got injured.
What bother me more is, will Crowder be 100% for the playoffs?
Other than that, I agree it's tough to lose Crowder but the strength of the team is not Crowder or IT. It's their team play. Brad will figure out something and the Celtics will be a bit unpredictable for the opponent coach analysis. The lack in Crowder will compensate with the surprise effect of new lineup and most importantly the determination of this team to win FOR Crowder as well.

I dont think Jerebko or any of our guards is really suited to play the SF spot.

I think this is a devastating blow for this team. I hope we can pull out a win out of the next 3 but it's going to be hard. Like some have mentioned this could possibly cost us home court in the playoffs especially if Crowder ends up missing significant time.
Honestly this makes me wonder why Ainge wasn't more aggressive at the trade deadline. We've been thin at the 3 all season and have been fortunate that JC has been healthy up until now.. but this is the NBA guys get hurt frequently and having depth is key.
When you see Detroit getting a guy like Tobias Harris for pennies on the dollar at the deadline, you have to wonder what we were thinking?

just reviewed the last game against indiana a real thriller and crowder was instrumental in that win
boston last year somehow found a way to survive with injuries to isaiah,kelly,marcus
i think the getting back to 100% is sometimes the hardest part because players get the minutes but perform poorly fot a time-
this team has been able to adapt to adversity-
