Le Busteau, eh?

JT gives the Raps another bouncy rebounder. Good 3rd string option at the 4/5. More of a sure thing than Nogueira.

I'd be fine with a flier on Bennett with our last roster spot. A guy that doesn't expect to play but could be developed.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

Anthony Bennett - has to now be the biggest bust of a #1 pick ever.

Think of where Cleveland would be if they had drafted Noel #1 as they should have done instead of picking this waste.
OR
think of where Minny would be if they had gotten Noel in that trade with Wiggins instead of Bennett with Wiggins.

I wonder if CBS can bring some value out of him.

Hey, LarBrd!  Don't the Celtics have an open roster spot after waiving Lee?  It's our big opportunity to finally get this guy!!

Minny might not have been given Noel because Noel already had a lot more value than Bennett. Bennett was already looking like a bust before moving to Minny.

I'm torn as I think the Cs need to try to pick up a vet shooter to fill the 15th roster spot. However I would not be opposed to the Cs signing Bennett if KO signs off on the move. KO and Bennett have shared a few Canadian FIBA rosters over the years. If Kelly doesn't view him as a problem player and a vet cant be had why not take a shot on Bennett to a non guaranteed contract next season. I still think he has talent and if his head is on and a team can build his confidence he can be a useful player and one who fits BS system.

One thing that blows my mind is that Bennett is still only 22 years old in his third year in the league and has only played 6 D-League games! By not letting him develop in the D-League I feel that neither the Cavs, T-Wolves or Raptors really where invested in his development. Being 22 he is actually the same age as RJ Hunter.

I mean... he does play with Kelly on Team Canada... right?

His options are so limited. Cant imagine a team that might give him playing time right now. Brooklyn I guess? Philly might be able to do worse. Lakers? Michael Beasley's Chinese team?

What a shame, hard to believe this guy was drawing Larry Johnson comparisons at UNLV.

For the life of me I cannot understand what Cleveland was thinking.  Did they not watch any footage?  He wasn't very good in college and it was not a difficult projection to what he has shown in the league.

Sure it wasn't a good draft but I cannot envision anyone having Bennett higher than mid to late lotto at best.

TP. I was already leaning toward using the roster spot on the best available DLeague free agent, and Anthony Bennett would have the most upside and highest ceiling by far if judged against available DLeaguers, wouldn't he? Sign him if Olynyk vouches for him, I agree.

Most recent Bennett footage from the D league stolen from a Realgm poster, he's got some decent footwork on that step back jumper and at times he looks like he could be a pretty versatile wing/PF threat.

What is his defender doing at 0:34?! That was a serious bite for what could barely even be called a pass fake.

I don't understand how NBA teams didn't do psychological profiling, medical examination, fitness testing, and so on, to uncover the fact that Bennett is just not cut out to be an NBA player.

I understand that the pre-draft process is complicated and agents do their best to ensure their clients come off the best way possible, but still.  Seems like there were major red flags with Bennett.  His flaws are severe and rather obvious, since he's entered the league.  Hard to believe it wasn't possible for teams to see.

Kwame Brown is still the much bigger bust, not even close.  Bennett was never an undisputed #1 pick, he was more of a head scratcher at #1 in a weak draft.

Kwame was supposed to be the next big thing, KG with more bulk.....he was going to be picked by and groomed by the best of all time.  He was an epic fail, completely killed the wizards at the time, and is MJs worst pick to lead his terrible GMing resume.

I think it is close.  Kwame did play over a decade in the league and was a serviceable backup.  I doubt Bennett will be in the league for another 8-10 years playing 20+ minutes a game, regardless of rep pre-draft.

Either way they were both awful picks.
