But that might not be a bad thing.  Miami, Orlando and the Knicks are the tallest in the East.  Minnesota, Denver and NOP in the West.  Not a list of power houses.

Good data and nice graph in this article.

When I first joined this forum, one of the big questions was whether we'll ever find a good center.

My initial reaction //was why don't we go for the Obradovic solution?//. Some were shocked and explained that this kind of euro-basketball would never work in the NBA where size and strength matter more... Interesting to see how things have changed with the sudden rise of GSW.

Another key point I take from this article is that a small frontcourt often works best with a big backcourt in this kind of system. Indeed, Obradovic's starter PG and key player in Panathinaikos was Diamantidis who is 6'5'' (and has quite long arms too- Greek fans call him 'the octopus'  ;D).

This makes me wonder if having IT playing PG will ever turn out to be a liability on our way to become a contender, but so far so good.

We may be the shortest...but we are in eighth place in the entire NBA. So there's that. This reminds me of some college team that rolled out a starting line up of guys who were 6'7 and up...and not that food if I remember correctly.
Long-form is far from dead, but please refrain from paragraph-laden posts! Who wants to read that?!

That graph will change a lot if based on playoff minutes. Look at how low the Clippers and Spurs are. When Jordan, Griffin, Duncan and LMA are getting playoff minutes, they will have plenty of height -- especially at the ends of games.

No question.
We have some street fighters.
How would you like to take on Smart, Crowder, and Sullinger in a fight?

I wouldn't want to fight either, but hopefully I'm conditioned enough well enough to tire Sully out ;)
