Memphis is trading Courtney Lee to Charlotte, sources tell @TheVertical

Sources: As part of Lee deal, Charlotte sending Brian Roberts, PJ Hairston and two 2nds to Memphis.

Charlotte's Brian Roberts will move to Miami as part of three-team deal with Charlotte and Memphis, sources tell @TheVertical

Sources: Miami will send two future second-round picks to Memphis as part of 3-team deal, although one is heavily protected.

Miami will send Chris Andersen to Memphis in deal too, sources tell @TheVertical

WHy for either side? Money

Lee is a solid 3+D guy for a playoff team in Memphis.

Charlotte already has Lamb as a two guard who can score that they also just signed.

I agree and may catch some flack for this but I have to wonder if a Walker style return is in the works? I really wouldn't be shocked to see a big man (zeller or Sully if the intent isnt to resign) + Jerebko + 2nd sent to Memphis for Green. Not a sexy move but Green as the Cs backup SF/PF makes them a better match up for Cleveland in the playoffs.

Will be interesting to see if he can pick up his game in Memphis. He reportedly showed up overweight for training camp, and his play this season has been very subpar to say the least.

I thought the same thing.  if Memphis is conceding a deep playoff drive this year with Gasol hurt, then picking up an interesting prospect in Hairston for a journeyman like Lee is good move. 

Lee should add decent backcourt depth for Charlotte to help nudge them closer to the playoffs but it's really uphill for them -- need a player that provides more impact than Lee I think
