much better fit next to Millsap. Howard can still be an elite defender in the middle.

Right. And would Atlanta also be tempted to keep Horford to pair with Howard? That would give them a shot at the ECF for sure.

They would prefer Howard if they know he intends on signing with them this summer. I assume they have to move Horford if they want any chance at getting Howard. Houston also needs a PG, and would love to move Lawson. Howard and Teague for Horford and Lawson would be interesting.

To me the basic idea of the Cs, ATL and Rockets making a deal seems to make sense if the following is true.

Obviously other pieces need to be added in order to make $$$ work but the basic idea could be

ATL gets Howard + Wing (Ariza or Brewer)

Rockets get Teague + ( assets from Cs)

Cs get Horford

This frame work holds if A. Horford isnt going to resign with ATL B. He is willing to sign with the Cs C. Howard wants to sign with ATL

I wouldn't even do three way. Teague and Splitter for Howard is way I would go if I'm Hawks.

They could also move Millsap to keep Horford and Howard. Who knows, I think its clear Dwight is looking for a new place to play at this point.

Can't blame him, for all his warts Dwight has been playing hard these past two years. Playing with Harden as your star player looks miserable, especially as a defensive big man.
