I am a big Iowa State fan, so I watch a lot of Big12 bball.  Buddy is having an outstanding year.  His game has improved in all areas a lot over the last year or two.  He has such a good rhythm on his jump shot, when he gets hot, it is lights out.  He had 27 on monday in the loss to Iowa State.  Everyone sounded happy that they could hold him to 27.  His defense has gotten better, he was guarding Niang for a portion of the 2nd half and made things tough on him.  He is athletic, has good size and can score literally on anyone.

Draft express has him going to us at #22.  Hard to believe he will fall that far.  I guess 22 years old is so over the hill in this era that being college player of the year and averaging 26 points a game doesn't mean that much.  The same mock draft has Kansas' Diallo going to the bulls at #15.  Diallo is averaging 5 points a game as a sub for Bill Self and has played in all of 13 games so far.  Interesting comparison.

Meh.

reading that '81' article about Kobe, and he was claiming that his regimen include over 1000 shots, every single day.

Honestly, if you aspire to play pro hoops and aren't taking making at a minimum of 500 shots a day, you're probably slacking. 

Hear that, Smart?

I believe I read somewhere he is only a season removed from shooting atrociously. Chance the shooting is a fluke. Maybe worth a look with a 2nd, but we got young and RJ to develop, and hes almost older than both of them.

500 isn't really that much. With players rebounding for you, you can reach that number in a surprisingly short amount of time.

500 shots for a serious basketball player isn't as crazy as you think.

I think more people should be exposed to their workouts and that kind of thing just to see how hard they work and what machines they are.  Like I've seen people freak out about some NBA player hitting like 20 threes in a row in a warm up before on twitter when I've seen Matt Bonner make seriously about 100 in a row at a camp once while giving a speech when I was in high school.  Then again some people seem to think Andre Drummond doesn't practice FTs and SVG can't figure out that he should either so I think there's little knowledge for some about this subject.

Not saying Hield isn't working very hard but yeah.

EDIT: also my sister was a D1 basketball player (and a great shooter) and put up 500 shots a day as a bench mark.

 No way he's a second rounder. He's a gigantic upgrade over Avery, Hunter, Young, Smart, whoever.

 I would be ecstatic to draft him with our own pick this year or Dallas's pick.

 Sadly, we do. Our two guard prospects are disappointing.

 Right now I hope Smart can be the SG, but no guarantees there, with his lack of shooting ability.

 Hield checks all the boxes, he can actually shoot!

 For all the talk about RJ as a shooter .305% his junior year is fairly shocking.
