The Lakers would probably want a pick, but I would ONLY throw in a second rounder.

I know Roy is not the same player he was three or four years ago, but he is still a very solid defender!!!  (OK, I checked on this, and Roy is 26th in defensive RPM:-(((  Wow!!!  I am sure a lot of that is that LA simply does NOT play defense this year as they are COMMITTED to getting a top 3 pick and NOT having to send that pick to Philly.

Lee simply is NOT in our rotation now!!!!

Why not for us?

Perhaps Roy could re-ignite his career with his in a playoff stretch and consider re-signing with us for a very reasonable amount???

I was hoping we would have traded for him last year.  Specially since it only cost the Lakers a 2nd round pick.  We have enough of them, he'd be worth trading Lee and one of our 2nd round picks for the simply reason we can't really draft the 8 draft picks we have this year.  Even if we did draft and stash overseas.  Hibbert could actually want to play for the Celtics who can actually make the playoffs.  Yeah his style isn't the same as we play uptempo but he'd be a great player to have an a big, specially if we play teams with actually bigs, Bulls, Cavaliers, Wizards, Hawks, Pistons, and the Heat.  Also if worst comes to worst we only lose a 2nd rounder really.

I think the question is not what does it do for us. Rather, it should be: what does it do for the lakers? would lee be in a position to help the lakers win, and in turn improve the odds of the nets pick, as well as possibly making the lakers lose their pick in the lottery? If so, I'll take it.
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

you vs. the guy she tells you not to worry about

I'm not interested in Hibbert.

Doesn't really help on the boards.  Certainly doesn't help the team on offense.

Why would we want to do that, D Lee is better player then him. What is he averaging on the Lakers, 10 mpg? Either we gonna make a splash, or we gonna trade for a young potential, or at least we gonna trade for someone who can still play. Hibs is not any of that. Cannot play, is lazy and a bad influence to our young guys. Hell no, we don't need that.

Roy Hibbert is a fossil.

Its really a win-win for us. We get a true center who is a two time all star and can also a game changing defender in the middle.

Slow? Yes. Which is a big draw back of him in BS's system. Spread the floor? No which is again a draw back.

But we need a true center. We need a defensive shot blocker in the middle. He is an expiring contract so it is really a no lose situation to replace Hibbert with Lee. He fills a need in a position of need.  Even if he plays 15-20 minutes a game it can't hurt. If there is no other deal where we need Lee's contract then I make this move in a heartbeat. On a playoff team Hibbert will be a nice addition.

Besides blocking shots he does nothing better than David Lee.
Lee would crush him on the boards.  Hibbert is lazing (just made that word) himself out of the nba

He is a far better rim protector and shot blocker!!  And I bet that Amir, with his feet and ankle problems, that are CHRONIC and will NOT get significantly better, is just as slow as Hibbert!!!  Hibbert might win running full court due to a longer stride.

Lazing is a word.  See The Kinks.

This might be well said if it was 5 years ago.  Teams have learned through analytics just how detrimental players like Hibbert are.  They kill your offense and are very easily exploited on the defensive end.  All you have to do is pull Hibbert away from the paint and he becomes a completely worthless defender.  He is not being ALLOWED to defend the paint like he used to and if he cannot do so he becomes an extreme liability to have on the floor.  People keep begging for a shot blocker when that is exactly what you should not be wanting.  I wouldn't touch Hibbert, Asik, Dieng, Monroe or even Whiteside with a ten foot pole.
