It took years for Bradley and Crowder to get to this level as well. People are assuming Mickey and Rozier can just jump right in. EVeryoone is different but it takes guys a bit to develop. We can't just be trading off our best players and tanking the season.
It took Bradley and Crowder years to get to where they are, and they are solid role players. Decent starters. But that's it.
And you know what? By the time this team is good again, they might be past their prime already.
Point being, while there's no sense in simply dumping Bradley, Crowder, Thomas, or anybody else (except for Lee, I suppose), if the Celts can upgrade its pile of assets in the process of trying to acquire a bona fide centerpiece, then absolutely they should do it.
There are a lot of players on this team I like, but none of them is the mission. The mission is building a team that's really good. Good enough to truly challenge the best in the league. The Celts are a long way from achieving that mission. They may have to shuffle through multiple rosters worth of players before they get there.
But that's rebuilding. If all we want to do is get attached to a hard working bunch of underdogs and watch them struggle to make the playoffs and then get killed once they get there for half a decade, then by all means, let's hang onto this group no matter what. I'm not interested in doing that for even a single season, to be honest.
