I'd also be wary of the Calipari factor.

(1) Guard friendly offense. Tough for bigs (offensively).
(2) Misused Towns last year.
(3) Kentucky is loaded. Lots of strong alternatives. Kentucky bigs often get far less minutes, less touches and less shots than they would on other teams. Skal would have more production on another team.
(4) And in general, I just don't think much of Calipari as a coach. Great recruiter. Mediocre coach.

Towns started slowly last year as well. People writing him off.

Still very early.

Said this is one of the other dozen draft pick threads, but I'll post it here as well:

For reference, this is what the mock drafts showed literally 1 year ago today:

nbadraft.net:

draftexpress.com:

The "consensus top 2" on Jan 2nd means jack squat.

I still don't think it's a guarantee we get a top 5 from Brooklyn, though.

Yeah, can't disagree here. Brooklyn pick will fall 6-10

We really don't know anything about the draft in January.  I just went back further.

January 2014: Andrew Wiggins listed 3rd on nbadraft.net's mock.
January 2013: Cody Zeller the #1 pick on nbadraft.net's mock.
January 2013: Anthony Davis #3 on nbadraft's mock... behind Jeremy Lamb and Andre Drummond.
2011: Perry freakin Jones listed as the #1 pick... Eventual top pick Kyrie Irving is nowhere to be found in the entire mock.

But yeah... Brooklyn pick is at risk of moving out of the top 5.  A lot of season left.

Also, tankcity, I forgot you were one of the three people (that I know of) that has a quote from me as their forum signature.   Yours points out me accurately declaring that RJ Hunter and Rozier would spend the bulk of this season in d-league:

Quote
"I think if Hunter was taken 16th and Rozier was taken 28th, people would have been fine with it.  I expect both to spend most of their time in D-League this year regardless." - LarBrd33

Nice to see someone highlighting one of my correct guesses for a change.   ;)
