Assuming he's replacing Sully:

Amir/Kelly
Green/Lee
Crowder/Turner
Avery/RJ
IT/Smart

To me this is a clear cut 2 seed in the East
2025 CelticsStrong Historical Draft Orlando Magic:
PG: Chris Paul
SG: Ray Allen
SF: Paul Pierce
PF: Chris Bosh
C: Tim Duncan

Sorry but this thread made me lol. He is playing on a stacked team half his offense is bunnies and the players around him can score at top 5 levels. He has good defense but he is equally out of position a lot on over pursuits. So I don't see him as a lock down defender just scrappy. In GS he gets a lot of calls else where it would be a different story. Is he worth the max? The "under 6 years" max sure but not a vet max.

Celts Fan, I don't know what your talking about with your Lol. He's worth anytype of Max you can Offer he'd be the best player on our team by a long shot.

I read like half the posts and couldn't figure out why people wanted to play Danny Green at the 4 or 5. lol.

He's second in a team that is currently 28-1 in Win Shares. He leads his team in Assists per game too, as a PF mind you.

He is playing for a stacked team, and a big reason why it is stacked is because he's playing in it.

SG: Paul George / Aaron McKie / Bradley Beal

He is playing for a stacked team, and a big reason why it is stacked is because he's playing in it.

It is not that easy an evaluation. GSW just fits incredibly well. Last year before his contract was signed, there were plenty of questions about how effective Green would be if he didn't have the best shooting backcourt ever opening lanes for him. It's still a good question to wonder. Green has awesome intangibles, but he reminds me of a prime AK47 kind of player in terms of being a jack of all trades, intangible master. This isn't a bad thing at all, but it doesn't really mean he would be the automatic best player or whatever if swapped onto this team because who knows how productive he would be elsewhere.

For all we know his assists would drop significantly because he isn't passing to wide open players from hockey assist passes by Curry getting doubled and Klay spreading the other side of the floor. His three point percentage may drop significantly if not playing with Curry and Klay. He's not exactly a natural 3PT shooter.

90% of his 2PT shots come within 10 feet of the rim, and he is assisted on something like 67-70% of those shots. This is with having some of the most spacing ever seen in the history of the NBA. I have a lot of questions about how effective a scorer he would be on a different team. That's why GSW is such a good fit for him. It doesn't matter there. He's just awesome there.

On GSW, his impact is that of a top 15 player. Elsewhere, though? Who knows. It probably wouldn't be the same, though. I'm guessing he would be a 16/8/4 guy here while giving us an extra layer of defensive versatility. Crowder and Green would wreak havoc on defense swapping and switching between the 3, 4, and 5 slots. Would he still be considered a top 15 player here? Probably not. Clear cut all star? Probably. Guys who score 16 a game usually have a tough time making the all star game unless their team is winning at a ridiculous pace, but he'd probably get in because of his defensive rep.

If I consider the Celtics a 47-50 win team currently, I guess I'd put them at 52-55 wins with Green. 5 win increase on the low and high end of predictions. Pretty much the difference between a 5-6 seed kind of team and a 2-3 seed kind of team depending on conference strength. The team defense would likely go from hovering around in the top 5 to becoming solidly in the top 1-2 with SAS. The team offense would improve slightly but not significantly.

Danny Green would probably add the same number of wins as Bradley. I view them as very similar players.
