I believe he will be very available at the trade deadline and would bring an All Star caliber player to a fantastic Brad Stevens system that we could help cater to his strengths.

My idea is:

Toronto receives:
SG RJ Hunter
Swingman Evan Turner
PF Kelly Olynyk
Minnesota's 1st Round Pick

Boston receives:
SG Demar Derozan
SF/PF Bruno Caboclo

I wonder if this is actually enough for Demar. He isn't a FA until the end of 2016 so we will still have him on contract for another whole year where we can either convince him to sign a fair enough deal where it benefits both sides mutually or add players around him with our stash of picks that will convince him to stay. We did convince Crowder to sign a solid deal after he experienced everything that had Boston had to offer, but it's clear that these are 2 different cases.

He has a player option for 2016/17 so he is probably going to test his worth on the open market.

What year do you think it is now?  ;)

His contract runs through '17, but next year is a player option.  I can't imagine he's going to play for $10m next year when the price tag for a 27 year old All-Star caliber wing who averages 20ppg will be much, much more.  Jerebko, Zeller, and Young or a rook plus later of Boston/Dallas first?

Don't want to give up much for a half year rental. But Toronto is not going to trade him unless their season takes a serious turn for the worse (like season ending injuries to Lowry and Carroll plus losing records in Dec and Jan) and they decide to go for a quick tank.

After 18 months with their Bigs, the Littles were: 46% less likely to use illegal drugs, 27% less likely to use alcohol, 52% less likely to skip school, 37% less likely to skip a class

I've never been a huge fan of DeRozan, especially in his younger years, but he might one of the few attainable All Star level/capable players that are in fact available. And I feel that this trade proposal is pretty realistic and believable.

I think I'd role the dice on it.

Don't see Toronto trading him, much less for a poo poo platter. Leading score on a team that'll like be a Top 4 seed. They'll keep him and see if they can convince him to stay in the offseason.
