I said last year that with Middleton, Parker and Giannis all quality SFs... if Philly landed Okafor and had Okafor, Noel and Embiid .. all quality Centers... that a trade between the two might make sense.

But with Embiid iffy, I dunno.  Noel for Parker still probably makes sense.

Why would Noel and Monroe have any better chance of working than Noel and Okafor?

The Bucks need a point guard, not a center.  What team out there has a top point guard prospect to spare?  The Lakers with D'Angelo?

The Bucks have made some of the worst trades in the league the last few years. Dealing Harris for Reddick was dumb. Trading Knight for MCW was just bizarre. The Bucks would be far better if they had those two and didn't have Monroe.

Good point.  Their GM makes some moves I really love, and then makes some moves that are just like, "Huh?!"

I know it doesn't make sense that the Bucks would trade Parker away. But they have recently been linked to signing Carlos Boozer and Caron Butler mid-season.

http://sports.yahoo.com/news/sources--carlos-boozer-meets-204345969.html

Both of these moves would take time away from Parker, and he is averaging 25 mpg right now. Parker has shot 3 3s all year. His average shot is coming from within 7 feet this year. They basically play him exactly like a true power forward.

It seems like they are focused on Monroe, Middleton, and Giannis as their 3-5 of the future, with Henson, O'Bryant, and veterans backing them up.

I like Kidd, but it seems like he does not view Parker as part of their future, at least right now. They are willing to sign veterans and play backups to take those minutes instead of developing him on the court. And when he is on the court, they play him somewhat out of position and stick him next to the basket so that Giannis and Monroe can work.

I think Parker might be quietly available. If we still believe he is an All-star 20 ppg scorer, then I would not be afraid to make a big offer for him.

Bucks are going to GSW it and not trade any of their young guns unless they have no choice

I don't. But I think Kris Middleton might. And I think we should trade Olynyk and a pick for him.

Kidd has acknowledged that the Bucks right now don't have nearly enough shooting and said that he expects Jabari to develop into a shooter in 3 years. I'd expect he at least publicly would voice similar opinions about MCW, Giannis etc. Privately it seems like he values shooting and offensive talent and efficiency in general very highly based on the moves he's made so far, so I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility that he would try acquire a better shooting wing to replace one of those guys. I think for at least the next year and a half he's going to be in the mode of "I have really good young guys, I'm just going to let it ride and see how they develop."

And the Minny pick going to the Suns.

Who says no?

Actually a pretty reasonable trade idea, TP.  I think that pick might be too sweet for PHX though, should really be a late, not a mid first rounder, IMO.

With no guarantee that Sully will resign, I think they will want a good 1st round pick. What do we care? We blow our noses with first rounders these days.

I agree with you there.  However, that Minny pick could very well end up being Diamond Stone, which considering we haven't had a competent center since 2010 would be nice.  What's the protection on that Minny pick again?

The Minny pick is top 12 protected so it is likely to become two 2nds.  The Suns would be glad to get rid of Morris so they might not even need the pick.  I think the Bucks wouldn't do the trade.  Might need to give them the Minny pick instead.  Still a good trade proposal.  TP

I'm skeptical of how this would've held up long-term, health-wise… but I've found myself recently wondering how the Pelicans would've looked had they kept Noel. Anthony Davis is kind of the perfect fit for a guy like him: he can space the floor and doesn't like playing the 5, whereas Noel is a natural 5 on offense. On defense, they'd have been a shotblocking tandem of terror.

If only those guys weren't so thin and seemingly injury-prone.
They would have also retained the #10 pick (Payton) that the Sixers ended up trading to Orlando for the #12 pick (Saric) and the return of the Sixers 2017 1st.  Turned out to be a really bad trade for the Pels.

Jabari's passiveness has been both disappointing and surprising.

I thought he would come into the league as a gunner. Take however many shots he needs to take to get his 18-20 points. He is far more willing to step aside to others to play to the point of Jabari himself becoming peripheral. That has been surprising.

Jabari played with much more self-confidence / arrogance at Duke.

Pre-injury, he was becoming pretty aggressive.  I think you have to give him a full year back to get his legs under him, so to speak.

I still expect him to have a really good career.  He is starting to look more like the JP we saw at Duke with each game.  Could easily be putting up 18 ppg a year from now.  His points per game per 36 is the same as Sully, and he is far more efficient.  Having him at the 4 two years from now would be a huge upgrade over Sully.  I would also take Middleton if the opportunity presented itself.  Bucks could be a pivotal trade partner.

Yeah, seemed to be a slam dunk for Rookie of the Year. The injury combined with a lot of above average [slightly older] talent on the team maybe making him 2nd guess himself.
