When are we going to activate Young or Mickey for one game and let them taste garbage time? They deserve a little mop-up too.

Not till someone gets injured

Their time will come.

Why isn't young ready? He should get a chance to be as bad as the rookies. Mickey should get a shot because Zeller (KO) doesn't need garbage minutes, we already know what he provides.

We'd have to de-activate someone to activate those two.  Maybe send Terry and RJ up to Maine and let Young and Mickey take their spots?

I'm sad that I missed the game tonight. I was stuck on an airplane out of Logan with four Edited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline.n channels of college hoops. Ugh. Jakob Poetl looked pretty good, so there's that.

I have the impression that, if you were the sort of person who believed that playoff experience built toughness, chemistry, and a winning culture, you might think that these last three games have had a lot to do with our not-tanking last year.

I'd say active/deactivate by rotation. If RJ and Roze were playing well in the minutes they get, they should always be the go to, since they are both hit or miss (mostly) then we should allow the other 2 guys every now and then.

Probably.

And if you were the sort of person who's an unrelenting pessimist always looking for a caveat to the team's success,  you'd point out that the Wizards have looked pretty mediocre this year, the Thunder were missing Durant, without whom they are just OK, and the Rockets have probably quit on their coach and are the only team so far this season to lose to the Nets.

I said it a lot last year but getting swept in 4 playoff games does very little to improve a team's long term success. Teams make the leap from nothing to contender when superstars blossom.  The idea that a team filled with mediocre talent can go from also-ran to contender simply by playing a handful of extra games is a bit gonzo.

I was on board with the playoff push mainly because of Brad Stevens.  I think he's a special coach and if ainge (an elite GM) ever lands a star or two, I want Brad here.  We were 15 games under .500 last season and the narrative I heard from a lot of media was that Brad would eventually grow tired of Ainge's failed plan and jump ship to an elite NCAA program.  My thought was that brad having some success and the players buying in would keep Brad here a bit longer and buy Ainge more time to get the right players.   We made some additions this year, players are improving... And we are a couple games above .500.  We are in good position heading into the future and Brad looks happy.  The run seems to have cost us a potential stud in Winslow, but the trajectory this team is on is plenty exciting.  45 wins seems reasonable and the Brooklyn pick continues to look like a gem (for now).  This is probably the highest morale has been here since Shaq was walking these grounds... Here's hoping it stays high.  This is the year that we have our cake and eat it.  Tankers and conventional fans unite under one green-tinted banner.   Go Boston.  Death to Brooklyn.  It's the year of the win/win.

Seriously what got into Olynik?  He defends - and defends well!  Love the defense this team is playing.  Houston had no interest in competing the 2nd half and the C's just destroyed them.  Well done!

The same pessimist (I see the sarcasm) said we would struggle and/or lose to each of those teams but not surprising after we mop the floor with them, they suddenly find excuses for those teams. Those teams had those same "issues" before we got to them, but people still said we would lose the games or struggle to win any of them.

CBS said Kelly's defensive problems weren't because he wasn't capable it was because he didn't trust himself/his abilities. Said KO knows where to be and what to do but that he didn't trust that he was quick enough to do it. Second guessing like he does offensively. He's better on both ends when he just goes for it and let what will be just be.

Of course, eventually he should come back down to Earth but should be much better than he was before if he continues to be aggressive.

Dang, can't I even be self-deprecating?

The Celts have played great over the past few games, no matter who their opponent is.  I don't know what it means for the rest of the season, but it's been fun to watch.  And I was wrong when I thought they'd struggle.

They did look really out of sync a week or so ago, though.  I'm astounded they appear to have figured things out so quickly.  Starting Isaiah has made a difference, I think.  Another thing I was wrong about.
