Isaiah is such a warrior.  He takes hits like Iverson out there
He's saving the day again.

I laugh when people complain about him. He's the least of this team's worries

He's awesome to watch on offense.  He's the main reason to tune in and actually watch what this team does on the court.  Very entertaining.  We just need to be clear -- he's a bench player.  Hurts the team defensively.
On a better team he might be a bench player but the Celtics don't have anyone close to his level on this team.

His lack of size hurts us defensively but he's an elite scorer which is great to have. I mean I shutter to think of how many points this team would score if he couldn't play, he's that important right now
It would be brutal watching this offense without him.

You know, no matter how much I argued that the run at the end of last season was illusory in many respects, I still find myself surprised to see the team look so mediocre, playing frankly ugly basketball.

Bought into the hype despite myself!

They'll get better though.  One of the team's best players is out tonight.

I think there's a variety of reasons. Last year for example even though he made boneheaded decisions half the time Turner was still useful. This year he still makes those decisions while doing nothing positive so that's a net negative... KO has been awful so far so he's become a net negative but was a huge factor last year so hopefully he picks it up. We also had actual rotations.

It's like 4 games into the season.  We didn't catch on last year until midseason, we have a couple new players to integrate and Smart will just keep getting better as the season progresses.  I think we probably drop a couple more games to start, then we'll go on a big run.  We will probably end the season again fighting for the 7th or 8th spot, then probably getting it when one of the other teams deliberately misses the playoffs for a shot at Simmons.

Although, the Knicks, Pistons and Pacers will be dramatically better than last year and only the Nets are worse.  The playoffs won't be nearly as easy to get into as they were last year in the East.

You gotta love IT, but Smart is being missed on the defensive end.

What's happened to Zeller, it's like he just got his Medical Marijuana card.

Zeller is 20 games away from being cut.

  • Yup
that oughta be worth a point

Right?

Agreed stupid :(
this just made me think of this, which I had not thought of in a long time...

my brother and I used to play a fair amount of darts...we had a rule about getting to go again if you caught the rebound when the dart bounced off the board...never once did either of us get the free shot

one night, years between playing I was at a bar shooting darts with a couple of knuckleheads I'd never met before...I caught a rebounding dart and insisted on getting my extra shot for the sheer serendipity of it all...they looked at me like I was a complete idiot, but eventually relented and gave me my free shot...that's my story and I'm sticking with it
Yup

Let's just trade off everyone not named Smart, Young, Rozier, Hunter, or Mickey, tank, and then get two top-three picks to build the next dynasty with.  ;)

Just imagine a lineup of:
PG: Smart/Rozier
SG: Young/Hunter
SF: Simmons
PF: Mickey
C: Labissiere

Easy as pie!  ;)
Recovering Joe Skeptic, but inching towards a relapse.

As we can all see we're playing terribly so far, but as we can all see Indiana is still very beatable.  Just gotta play a little smarter and have a couple shots drop.
