I recently read an article saying IT4 was on track to be the best under 6' player in nba history.
I'm not sure there's that many players under 6ft that were that great

Six foot plus, my favorite player of all time(still miss him in the booth). Bob Cousy, absolutely.  Second place is still Rondo, for me.

Damon Stoudamire at 5ft 10 had a pretty respectable career. No all star games thought

Jameer Nelson at 6ft flat had an all star appearance and a respectable career

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
There should probably be a cut off on height - like it should definitely be under 6 ft and maybe even 5'10" or under. A 6'1" pg is not undersized.

The reason that guys like Webb, Bogues, and Boykins get mentioned so often is because they were so short, yet still effective. Put me down for AI because he wasn't really anywhere close to 6 feet, but was still able to completely take over game after game.

Eja...nowhere in your title did you say "star"...only "best."   There were probably some terrific but forgotten short players in the old ABA. (Even before my time!)

According to wiki average height of an nba pg is 6ft 2.75. So 6ft 1 is still short for the position but not very short.

It would imply a guy like Cousy wasn't short for the position at all for the time. Or maybe not even Isiah Thomas back in the 80s

Not NBA, but most entertaining 6'1" ever, Curly Neal!

If we go up to 6'1 I'd take Isiah Thomas or Chris Paul.
If the player has to be under 6' then our Isaiah Thomas might come out on top before he is done.  He is just entering his prime, is still improving, and is now on a team which has him in the perfect role.  I think he definitely comes out ahead of guys like Adams, Webb, and Bogues.  Mark Price would be hard to beat though.

Spud Web .....one of the most exciting player s ...EVER ......Turbo charged version of IT .....only 5'7" his dunks were THE best.   He went against MJ and tall guys like that in dunking contests , and won .

I d watch a whole game just hoping and praying Spud would get a DUNK .......they were spectacular.

Muggsie Booges was fast as fun to watch .

Seems to me that the OP might want to add a poll to the top of this thread.  :)
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

Hard to believe that local Xaverian and Boston College product as well as former Celtic and one of the greatest three point shooters of all-time hasn't been mentioned yet.

How about some love for Dana Barros.
