Welp, there goes the end of an era and especially coming from our bloody-boiled rival.

I have to admit that was impressive. The shot to take the lead was pretty amazing.
Was that the shot he split the D and pulled up from 10 feet? That was vintage Kobe.

I think it was a pull up on the move from a step inside the arc.

And the Golden State Warriors broke the Chicago Bulls 95-96 record. They finish the regular season with a dazzling 73-9 record!

Hopefully there'll be no more of those 95-96 Bulls comments lol

So which current players have enough star power to also go on a farewell tour before they retire?

Lebron?
Curry?
Duncan? He would never do this.

Any one else?

Curry's nowhere near that level yet. It's pretty much just LeBron.

Yup.  Dude had a helluva run.  It'll be weird to see the Lakers next year without Kobe.

And now one of the most storied franchises in all of sports can, maybe, just maybe, start putting together an actual basketball team and start playing the kind of ball that actually makes you want to watch.

KG, but he also falls in the Duncan never-ever category. Dirk too.

Duncan might already be doing it as we speak.  It's going to be funny after all the hoopla over Kobe when he quietly announces a couple days after the Finals this year or next, probably without so much as a press conference, and maybe a handful of interviews.

This kind of farewell tour is really rare, the last guy I can remember doing it was Kareem.  Dr. J before him.  Guys often don't really commit to retiring til the season's over, and guys on competitive teams don't like to distract the team's efforts with an announcement.  So I doubt we'll see this kind of circus again for a while.

I hope Duncan waits another year just so his induction to the hall of fame doesn't get overshadowed by Kobe's.  Kind of feel the same way about Pierce.

If Lebron wins a ring or two in Cleveland and then pulls a Kobe and drives them into the tank then I could see him pulling this.

Draymond Green makes it easy to dislike the Warriors. They are lucky that almost all the other guys are likeable.
