obviously getting melo and kd would be a very long shot to put it nicely. But it's probably the most realistic way we could get 2 allstars within a year. If anyone posted we were going to get Ray and KG before it happened the term "pipe dream" would have been tossed around too.

A lot of the criticism against trading for Melo is that the team post trade wouldn't be a top contender and Melo is older so why trade for him. What this ignores is that, if we get melo for a cheap to fair price we would still have the assets/flexibility to make another deal. So it wouldn't have to be kd, with melo we would have a shot at everyone over the next 2 or 3 years.

I think we could get two all stars for half of the hypothetical package/team situation it would take to roster Kevin Durant.
At least a goldfish with a Lincoln Log on its back goin' across your floor to your sock drawer has a miraculous connotation to it.

Agree. And yes, we have a stable of talented role-players ... but honestly, KD didn't win a chip with Ibaka, Westbrook, Russell, Jackson, etc. No way we could surround him with talent like that.

Given what it would take, I doubt he could win a chip with Melo and KD, honestly.
