They are totally, and very poorly, trying to overcompensate for losing out on Deandre Jordan.

Can you blame them? I mean they did have to do something since they lost out on DeAndre and let Tyson Chandler sign with the Suns.

Dallas has 16 guaranteed contracts, plus four others players (including Dwight Powell) on the roster. Don't really get giving both McGee and Dalambert (who appeared close to useless last year) guaranteed money. But it's Cuban's to burn I guess....

kind of doubt he makes the team. How is him playing on a team with Zaza and dalembert (and perhaps powell) not better than him joining a team with one player over 6'9 (Celtics last year when we only had zeller)

Nobody ever listed intelligence as one of his qualities. It's often listed as one if his main weaknesses.

Makes sense to me. Dallas doesn't have a starting-caliber center so they're going to bring in as many tall humans as they can hoping one of them overachieves. McGee is a chronic, career-long underachiever so if he got some kind of reality check/maturation from not being with a team for a while maybe he could be an assett on a team that has a big hole to be filled.

I don't think it'll work out but its a sensible gamble for Dallas.
