Dangerous to suggest that I know anything, Pho.  ;D

Good moves! Enjoy your fancy digs with the laptop sect. Hope you're being paid.

As far as the writing: dial back the 'I' usage, IMO.  Instead of "I believe coach Brad Stevens may be reluctant to play Hunter due to some defensive deficiencies off the bat", you could go with something like "Coach Stevens may also be reluctant to play..." etc. We know you believe what you write... that's why you wrote it, after all?

Thanks for the advice, "I" will definitely keep it in mind.   :)

Not paid, just a bit of a passion project at this time.  I'm really just in it as a hobby and to get to go to the games for free.  We will see how it all pans out.

Everyone doing this sort of thing should get paid, but free home tickets (sort of, since you can't really watch the same way while you're on the clock) is more than payment enough if you're not trying to do this full time yet. Definitely a good way to watch a ton of Celtics basketball, that's for sure.

Write something about the cheerleaders and include a lot of pics. Jk (well not really id like a cheerleader piece) But in a more serious piece we need something written on the development of players. A piece that interviews players on their drive for the game, what in the past motivates them and other passions / interests they have. Not a fluff piece but griddy one as the NBA is not easy and it is very hard to play and stay at that level. The challenges of what workout, eating, travel and image/media present. Try for a Celtics legend from each decade and a current player. Would be very good article/series, maybe something players will actually all read as well.

Thanks very much guys.  It was really just right place at the right time.  Amico tweeted that he was looking for people to cover each team for his new site.  I sent him some examples of work I had done in the past and he said he would be excited to have me.

Sorry for not responding earlier, been in an income tax training all morning at my real job haha.

I appreciate all of your comments and suggestions.  I will definitely try and improve as a writer.

Follow me on twitter at @Conway_NBA  I started the new account just for this.

Actually sorry one question for the group.

Is there a place you guys suggest I start for reading up on advanced metrics?  really understanding the meaning of the metrics and where to research them?

Most of the databases have glossaries where they explain the composition of each statistic:

http://www.basketball-reference.com/about/glossary.html
http://stats.nba.com/help/glossary

Once you know what each metric is actually measuring you can apply all sorts of questions to it. Why did Gerald Wallace have the best Defensive Box Plus Minus last season? Etc.

Statmuse looks like it could be cool, but in practice I haven't seen much use for it in its current form.

Don't forget to mention that a certain team patriarch is rolling in his grave (and I agree w/ him).

Boooo party pooper. Lol jp I think it's k to have them but it doesn't matter given that cheer cues are now done by intercom not cheerleaders. If cheerleaders were actually doing the cues it would be more fun for the kidz.

Thanks for the article. In my opinion, over/under 2.5 of them to come true.
