I just saw a post on Facebook regarding this topic, and was bothered by the fact that Bill Russell was left off. That being said, who's your all time defensive starting 5?
I go
C: Hakeem Olajuwon
F: Bill Russell
F: Scottie Pippen
G: Michael Jordan
G: Gary Payton
This is really good. I think Hakeem and Russell are the two best defensive players in the history of the game, so their spots are solid even if I wish there was a way to work Tum Duncan in somehow. Pippen was incredible and versatile so it's hard to knock him off but you could probably slip Rodman into the SF spot. Someone else had Moncrief as their SG, which I like because that guy doesn't get remembered enough (I geuss because his prime was too short) even if I think Jordan's spot is safe. And you've gotta have The Glove playing point.
