Russell does remind me a bit of another OSU wing who entered the league several years ago.  He should be a better shooter than Turner so his floor is somewhat higher, but there will be an adjustment period.  He's no longer bigger and quicker than the opposition by default.  He'll have to learn to generate space against elite athletes who are as big as he is, and that will take time.

I think he'll ultimately be a good player.  I was never on the 'next Kobe' bandwagon, but I do like him.  But Okafor and Towns were the best players in this draft and I think LA made a mistake by making the flashy pick instead of the obvious one.
