Terry Rozier vs Damian Lillard (yes I know, another comparison)

 Smart better stay late shooting. Terry is hungry and more talented.

If we have to compare Rozier to another player, why Lillard? Rozier will never become such a good 3p shooter.

Reggie Jackson is IMO a better comparison as for Rozier's ceiling.

He won't be playing 40 MPG anytime soon.  Nor will most players play forty minutes. This makes me question the usefulness of that stat.   Look at these stats, you will see guys who play and other guys which names you might barely know.  Eric Moreland the top guy played two minutes.

He played good at times last night, I still think he is not comfortable on his defensive rotations.  Good to see him taking it to the hole.

 Your missing the point Celtics. Point is that Rozier is a stat stuffer, with much more offensive potential than Smart, and he's defense is good as well.

all of this may be correct. but to be honest all that i am seeing here in terms of stats falls prey to the dreaded super small sample size.

rozier has played a TOTAL of 168 nba minutes in his entire life. hard to much confidence in stats emerging from the small a number.

heck, as a point of comparison, james harden puts up 168 minutes in less than 5 games.

We should be comparing him to other random d-league level players who have randomly put up mindblowing 7 point 5 assist performances off the bench in losing efforts.

The similarity between rozier and avery is that neither is a PG (though rozier has a bit better handle).

I think comparing rookie rozier to rookie Avery Bradley is a fair comparison to make. 

Bradley averaged 1.7, 0, 0, 0 with 34% shooting.  He turned out alright in spite of a mostly redshirted rookie season.  Here's hoping rozier follows Bradley's path.  There's so many guys who didn't.
