Did Marcus Smart and Marcus Thornton switch bodies?
Lol I told everybody that Thornton could play
His talents were well hidden by the fact that he was playing in a place where he got zero attention - but his offensive numbers over a good 3-4 seasons were incredibly impressive. He averaged something like 17 points (including 40% from three) over his four year college career.
Thornton is the best athlete on this summer league team, and that's saying a lot considering we also have Mickey, Smart and Rozier. Elite athleticism, good handle, good passer, excellent shooter (despite the form), solid defender.
Kid has the potential to be a huge surprise at #45.
He actually has surprisingly few weaknesses in his game - main criticism is his lack of physical strength, which can hurt him on both ends of the floor. Guy can play though.
