To answer that, you have to hypothetically go a few years into the future. If you only keep the draft picks from the last 2 years and they develop to the potential they are already showing, we will have symmetry between Smart, Rozier, Hunter and 2nd round stud Mickey ( Pretty nice guard, SF, PF combo). I can't think of another team with the slashing, shooting, defense and attitude that will match those 4 when they are considered vets... 4 years from now Lebron won't be Lebron.......

I think ainge is rebuilding, but he is doing what he usually does. collecting assets that he feels may have value or he can rebuild their value and trade them away.

ainge isn't going to go the hinkie way of trading away Anyone with some value for pennies on the dollar so he can be the worst team he can possibly be. which is why it is hard for some to see what ainges plan is, signing guys like Lee,crowder, Isaiah Thomas. guys who will help us win games.

but I think ainge looked at it as "hey this guy Thomas is on a reasonable deal and averaged 20pts the year before" or with Lee "this is an expiring contract and this is a guy who averaged 18.5 ppg as recently as a couple of years ago.

guys like Bradley, crowder can be filler guys in a potential deal.

we dont have any blocks to build a contender right now.  case in point, we don't have a single player that is "untradeable" or is a legitimate all star caliber player that you can build around.
