Jordan spurning the Mavs to go back to the Clippers has a huge impact on us for 2016 with us owning that pick and the Nets 2016 what does everybody think we should do with them? Make the Godfather offer for Cousins? Kings most likely wont listen anyways.Play out the season without making any trades and roll the dice and keep what we have and hope for the best?Danny has a million options at his disposal. Lets just wait the rest of this summer out. We may not have gotten Love or Aldridge but things still look good.

Keep the picks. Dallas and Brooklyn will suck.

personally i'd deal the draft picks while they are "hot." Whether that is right now or by the deadline. The only thing we all know for certain is they are definitly not hot when the season ends, at least if this last draft was any indication.
It's a gamble regardless, nobody knows for sure what our pick, the Nets, or the Mavs pick will yield, obviously teams will have a better idea by the trade deadline.. but clearly the value could change for the better or worse as to what they are worth right now.
If it was up to me, i'd try to move them before the season begins.

I don't think either are a home run.. although at this point Dallas might be.

I seriously think the Nets season can go either way, and I really think folks around here are underestimating their potential.

If we deal the picks right now here is what will happen:

- Next June both picks will win the lottery and end up #1 and #2 overall
- #1 and #2 overall both go on to be perennial all-stars
- We get DeMarcus Cousins and he gets both legs amputated due to stepping on an unaccounted for land mine from World War II while doing off season conditioning

If we DON'T deal the picks here's what happens:

- The Mavs and Nets both make the playoffs
- We draft Fab Melo's second cousin at #17 and Juan Johnson (last name is pronounced Yon-sun), a 5'8" PG (He's fast though!) from Ciudad Juarez, Mexico at #22.

Sad but true, although Dallas getting 1 or 2 doesnt help us in anyway regardless. It would be theirs no matter what.

The Mavs not getting DeAndre increased the value of our pick. The thing is if the season starts and the Mavs lose a bunch of games I think they ship out assets to make sure they have a bottom 7 pick. Even if we don't get the pick this year, a pick in the 7-14 range in 2020 is probably more valuable than a 2016 pick in the 20's we would have got if they signed Jordan. So even if we don't get the pick this year, the Mavs being bad increases the value of the pick long term.

When Brooklyn moves Joe Johnson I think they are a lot more likely to be in the lottery than the Mavs.

I would 100% trade either of those picks for a star. I probably would give the Mavs back their pick in exchange for Chandler Parsons (we would add other pieces as well)
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

Parsons would be a good add for us but I cant think of a way where we could fit him into the cap.

It would probably have to be a 3 teamer.

Maybe AB + Jerebko to Utah, Alec Burks +a Utah first + Dallas 1st (via boston) to Dallas, Parsons to Boston?
too much? too little? who says no?

(Im asking not because I think I came across the perfect deal but because I am very confident it wouldnt make sense for someone but I cant figure out who.)

Problem is how can he not tank with his current roster? 2nd half of last season Dirk was terrible. Parsons can't really get his own shot so let's hope Barea can find him. Losing Tyson Chandler & Monta Ellis is huge. Don't see them making playoffs in the West.

I don't think Utah does it. I'm not sure they would trade Alec Bucks for Ab straight up if they were both healthy, I doubt they would give us a first in that deal as well.

We could do something with Lee going to Dallas. Involve them in the 3 team trade so we can move Wallace, Sully, Turner and picks for Parsons.

I hope it means we follow suit and try to trade some of our guys like Bradley and Zeller to get some picks. Even if it's just a 2nd rounder it helps us on our mission to tank.

Burks was the ? mark here for me. Hes a decently promising young pg but hes a bit of a tweener between the 1 and 2 and he has a bit of a nasty injury history. Plus with Burke and Exum and Hood on the roster, I think AB's skillset makes a lot more sense for them. Plus he is signed to a pretty sizable extension which isnt a bad deal, but it is for a guy who looks like he will soon be their 4 th gaurd in the rotation. AB's deal is better and he makes more sense for them. Perhaps keep the deal the same, but make the Utah 1st very protected. (like top 20 or at least Lotto)

I like the Lee idea. Just weaving Dallas into the deal could make sense but Im not sure how Id do it.

I dont think Dallas wants any part of Lee. If they got him Id expect to see him released and GS wont want any part of a deal that screws over Lee.

The Celtics aren't tanking this year.
You and others think they should, and maybe you're right, but the writing is on the wall -- the Cs are in rebuild, and will try to make the playoffs this year (again).
Again, agree or disagree with the direction, but its pretty clear what the direction is at this point...
Celtics fan for life.
