This is a move that I would be okay with. Hibbert won't put them over the top and I don't see him gelling with Rick Carlisle. In order for Dallas to stay outside of the top 7 in the ultra-competitive west they have to field a true starting 5. Hibbert is still a downgrade from Chandler imo.

Dallas is probably looking to simply absorb Hibbert's contract using cap space. We'll see if that is enough for Indiana to move him.

You have to think that Matthews and Ellis are still in play for Dallas though. We'll just have to watch this unfold.

edit: Monta Ellis has sign with the pacers.

Harris
Matthews
Parsons
Nowitzki
Hibbert

Where does that roster end up?

Seems like the type of move that will help keep their pick in the 8-14 range for us.

Hibbert and Nowitzki are not going to play well together in terms of defense and rebounding.

Both guys are too slow and limited as team defenders + can only rebound their area. Perimeter rebounders are going to make or break that team on the backboards. I think it'll be a below average defensive team even with Roy Hibbert on board.

Yup! Just saw that. It's a good move for them and i'm happy to see the east get a little stronger. Teams like Toronto, Indiana and Milwaukee are building some playoff ready rosters.

This is clearly the backup plan to Deandre Jordan. Jordan signing with Dallas would be a gut punch for our fan base. He's got every reason to stay with LAC. I hope he comes to his senses.

I don't see that team going far—seventh seed at best, and a first-round loss. Hibbert is inconsistent and an offensive liability, and Nowitzki looked cooked at the end of last season.
