Stauskas in Philly ?  Dude shot 42%/42%/86% post all-star game.  This is wonderful news for my fantasy basketball team.   I like it.

Funny that a year ago 90% of this forum was telling me he was better than ben mclemore and now everyone dismisses him like he's garbage.  He was the 8th pick and was taken for his shooting ability.  Another Hinkie steal.

I think people are writing Stauskas off way too early.  He struggled to start the season as most rookies do and he played for three head coaches.  The guy can flat out shoot and has decent ball handling skills.  He also has good size for a sg and tested well athletically at the combine.
I would have gladly traded #16 for stauskas. Frankly, I'll be completely shocked of Harry hozier ends up having a better career.

I'm disgusted with our offseason so far.  I hate that Hinkie keeps making moves that make me look like a 76ers fan. Maybe he's been stalking me.

How can we know you aren't Hinkie trolling us?

Btw if you watch the behind the scenes video about the Kings draft war room last year, they were very concerned that Boston would take stauskas ahead of them at #6. They actually celebrated when Boston drafted Smart.  "That's good news for us! That means the lakers will take randle!!"'

What a difference a year makes.  Dude struggles in limited backup minutes for a half season and Hinkie swoops in to get him for free.  Amazing.

Summer league will be interesting.

This sounds like a good deal for the Sixers.  Taking on an additional 16mil this year should only put their team salary around 50mil.  So they would still have room to make another similar deal.  They'll probably work buyouts with Landry and Thompson.  I would not be surprised if Stauskas looks a lot better in Philly.

I'm sure those two vets are going to want all their money. Sixers got Stauskas who was awful last year, but showed some spark of life after the ASG.  The first round is 2018 at best and the protection is as of yet unknown. The swaps will only be useful if Sixers are better than the Kings and the Sixers look like they're built to tank for a couple of more years yet. IOW, this may end up being a better deal for SAC who dumped over $30-40 MM in future salary obligations. OTOH, it'stough to believe that Kings couldn't screw this up royally.

It is a good deal for the Sixers.  It may turn out to be a good deal for the Kings if they can use the freed up cap space to sign the free agents that they want.

The Sixers used 16mil of cap space to get this deal done.  That's what we used to sign Johnson and Jerebko.  I'm depressed.   :'( :'( :'(

That trade, by the way, makes the Sixers better in the short term, for all the haters.

That trade has major billups potential.  Stauskas shot well the second half the season.  He's probably a better offensive player than Smart right now.  Way too early to give him away.

Kings and hornets are the two worst managed franchises in the league. Shame Danny can't take advantage.

I thought this video was weird as was an earlier video where the Kings brain trust discussed who to draft.  Vivek seemed to be making the call while everyone acted like his yes men except for Malone who was being treated like the red headed step child.

I doubt they'll give Thompson and especially Landry much playing time.

Here's my question for philly: I'm assuming taking on this much dead weight for two seasons means they have no intention of being good in either of those seasons.

At that point Noel's rookie contract is up and so far they've given him no reason whatsoever to want to stay. Does this mean we can expect him to be flipped for even more assets in the near future?

Define good. I think they'll be close to what they were prior to the blow up.

They're a serviceable PG away from nipping at the heels of pretty solid rotation for a rebuilding team. Especially if Embiid is relatively healthy by the ASB.

Why would you make that assumption?  It isn't that much salary and the cap is jumping 20mil next offseason.  They've also apparently picked up pick swaps in two drafts.  Which means they have the potential to make the playoffs and still get a lottery pick if the Kings do not.

When Noel's contract is up, he will be a RFA just like every other rookie.  So he's not leaving the Sixers unless they want him to or unless he plays for the qualifying offer in his 5th season (very unlikely).  They may end up trading Noel, especially if Okafor and Embiid both work out, but that just gives them more assets.

#sixers can only swap picks with Kings in 2016 if pick doesn't convey. Then if it doesn't convey, same thing in 2017

Top-10 protected in 2016. If it doesn't convey in 2016, is top-10 protected in 2017.

If you want to feel better about some of the misery and pessimism here, go to Sactownroyalty.  The Kings fans are devestated.  It's hilarious.

From one of the articles:
"The Sacramento Kings are a bad basketball team, have been a bad basketball team for some time and look to remain a bad basketball team for the foreseeable future."

The comments are priceless.

"You gotta import suck from other teams if you wanna go hard for that #1."
