Always skeptical about the "XX pounds of muscle," but if you've ever been 19 years old and started lifting heavy weights and supplementing for the first time you know that this is at least plausible.

Promising to hear and I have hope in the kid, but I'm not jumping to any conclusions until he shows me something on a court.

There have been many players over the years who have rambled on about the strides they have made in the offseason, only to show nothing for it when the season starts.

Entertaining read, but that's about all at this stage.

On what was a very skinny 6'6" frame with a 7' wingspan with elite personal trainers helping you.  Yeah, definately plausible.

could be a mixture of both

he's probably working out right vs his time in Kentucky. Getting in the right workouts, getting the right supplements, and probably eating a lot.

He probably did gain 20 lbs, but probably a mixture of fat, muscle and water weight. It is good that he is getting stronger though. We will see how he looks like next week during summer leagues

When's our first Summer League game?

Monday 9p.m. EST. All games on NBATV and online site.
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

Great news. I really hope we don't bury him on the bench. I really like him.

I don't.

Don't understand the love fest with Young on this blog.

I'll bet anything RJ Hunter ends up being better than James "haven't proven a thing but for some reason Celtics fans adore me" Young.

This gonna be like the muscle Kelly added to his frame last summer?

Yep, and the weight that Sully lost this summer too  ;D

Lol.

And by the end of the season, Olynyk's frame looked like Mick Jagger's and Sully's ended up looking like Louie Anderson's.

Draftexpress has him at 213 at last years draft combine. He says he's currently at 220. 20 pounds of muscle sounds like a bit of exaggeration.

I would be willing to bet 50 TPs that in 2 years, Young will have a better NBA career than Hunter.

The only criticism I have of Young, is that he desperately needs a right hand. He plays like his right hand is cut off. I mean I'm not asking for him to be ambidextrous, but jeez louise, sometimes his right hand is extremely nonexistent.

There's a whole blog dedicated to offseason "20 pounds of muscle" comments.  Search for it... It's funny.

Perhaps, he was down to 200 after recovering from the car accident.

This is the third "James Young was out of shape last year and this year he's RIPPED" article I've read. Let's see how he plays Monday.

More concerned about James Young learning the playbook and defensive rotations more than packing on some weight.  His BBIQ development is the most important thing as well as improving his on-ball defense.
