I guess the way this happened has made a few national writers look a little more gossipy than usual (which is hard to do). We will probably get a few obligatory "I told you so" posts from Zubi but that should be the end of that. At least that is a positive.

Love being unhappy and wanting to leave was 100% a media-driven narrative from the beginning. I'm sure there was a rough adjustment period, but everything he's done since last summer lines up with his decision to re-sign in Cleveland. His priority, as he stated a year ago, was to win. He's doing just that in Cleveland.

And then LeBron signs with the Lakers and the Cavaliers go back to the lottery.

Dumb decision. Left money on the table by taking a 5 year deal instead of a 1-2 year deal. Accepted being turned into a role player instead of an All-Star.

He could have competed for a Championship elsewhere. This is pathetic.

Wow, 5 year deal.  Guess Love is content to spend the rest of his prime as a rich man's Ryan Anderson.

Welp, hope he enjoys it, I guess.

Love is signing for five years, $110 million. He's not leaving Cleveland anytime soon.

That part I am really surprised about. He is losing money by locking himself into that deal correct? (As opposed to signing a two years and resigning for new max). He must just like the security with the all the injuries he has suffered.

Yeah, that's the surprising part.  A 1-year deal, or even. A two-year deal to test out the new CBA, would have seemed like better financial decisions.  Ah well.

Now we can start the rumors next year when Love and LeBron start fighting and Love gets benched behind Thompson that he'll be available for trade...

So now, in addition to vilifying guys for being all about the money and not prioritizing winning, we're going to vilify guys for prioritizing winning and not being all about the money?

The good news it that it's starting to look like the Lakers aren't going to come away with anything, either.

I think it's fair to question a guy for being content to waste his talent as a role player on a stacked team.  Love apparently has no interest in being a top option again like he was in Minnesota, instead happy to just be a spot up shooter and occasional inside scorer next to LeBron and Kyrie.

I thought they were better with Tristan Thompson as their starting PF. I think K-Love should come off the bench as a 6th man. The difference in their team's defense with Love in and out of the lineup was incredible.

There's always the overpay for Jordan but, yeah, they've been swinging & missing so far.

I think he realizes he could break down at any point and is taking the bird in the hand approach. So if TT is getting the max, that gives Cleveland 4 max players including lebron...

If by media driven, you mean the media observed that Love was obviously unhappy in Cleveland and with his role on the team, then yes.

I'm not surprised at Love staying in Cleveland.  If he doesn't have some serious health concerns or this deal has an early opt out, this doesn't make a lot of sense.  When Kyrie is healthy, Love is STILL going to be a third wheel on offense who spends most of his time spotting up behind the three.  If the Cavs do resign Thompson for $80 mil or whatever, they sure aren't doing that to play him only 20 minutes a game.
