Me.

As foolish as it would be to fire Danny Ainge, it would be even more foolish to hire a fan like me to be GM of the storied Boston Celtics.

Let the man do his job :)

I don't think anyone really wants to fire Ainge. I think people are just venting over the pre-draft chatter that we will be aggressive and move up and then what do we do? We draft a good player at 16 that we could have got at 33 and we draft basically all guards and one undersized big.

There are some pretty bad GMs in this league and Ainge is not one of them.

Danny Ainge, on a contract extension.

Ainge has proven to be one of the better GMs in the game - firing him would be a big mistake.

Who is "we"?

"We" did not hire him. "We" have no control over who ownership chooses to put in charge. And ownership trusts Ainge, and loves having him run "Their" team.

A better question is: "If ownership were to fire Ainge, who would be a good replacement?"

Seriously though, that's just crazy talk. Ainge tried as hard as possible to get a deal done to move up. Charlotte just wasn't having it. We're obviously not going into next season with 1009 guards, let's wait to see what direction were going here.

Ainge has had his moments.

He's not the artificial legend this blog has concocted for him, but he has had his moments.

And he's also failed, largely, in two years to parlay all these allegedly wonderful "assets" he has accumulated into very much.

Fired? Nah. On the clock? Certainly. It is time for this franchise to get back in the hunt. Right now.

You'll have to fire brad too.  That guy could squeeze 40 wins out of 5 of yi jianlian's chairs.
