I think the Cs want to get to 6 to take WCS. And I think SAC wants to move back a few slots (probably to 8 or 9) to take WCS yet pick up another asset.  Something has to give there.

I'll be pretty upset if we move all the way up to 6 and take WCS.

Who qould you prefer at 6?

Mudiay, Winslow, Hezonja, at least one of which should be at 6 in addition to WCS.

Draft: 8 first rounders in next 5 years.

Cap space: $24 mil.

I'd love to get Mudiay.

Yep. Mudiay and Smart would be a brutal backcourt to match physically over a 7 game series. Could give us a huge advantage over some of the finesse backcourts currently dominating the league such as Splash Bros.

Out of that list, I would be happier with Mudiay or Hezonja. Something about Winslow just doesn't do it for me. The guy looks like a winner and all, I just think he has question marks at the next level. He was underwhelming at the combine (measurements wise) and while he has strength, that doesn't guarantee finishing at the rim at the next level. Marcus Smart had crazy size (strength and length), yet struggled at the rim all year. Also I have seen a few analysts talk about how Winslow's shooting may have been a bit of a best circumstances type thing. When you have Okafor acting like a black hole for the defensive attention, it isn't hard to knock in your wide open threes at a very good rate.

When the idea of a guys name (Justice) is the reason you get the most excited about him, I'm not really sold on whether or not his ceiling is worth trading up that high.

There's something to be said for being a winner with Winslow's consistency: two state championships followed up by an NCAA championship is really something. There's a reason why teams that have Winslow win all the time, and it's more than what shows up on stat sheets.

I also think Smart's problem getting to the rim was related to an ankle injury he played through and related effects on his mentality.

If they get to 6 it's probably Hezonja. Although I'd take WCS at 6 and sleep well. If they grab 9 I'm almost sure they're drafting Myles Turner there..

I'm worried by Mudiay, but that would be one fun combo for sure.

I think if anything Winslow's stats seriously underrate him. After struggling with injuries early, he went on to absolutely dominate down the stretch. He has awesome defensive versatility, as he'll defend 3-4 positions in the NBA. And he's a guy like Smart that makes winning plays that don't show up in the statline.

It's fair to worry that he's a translation risk with his strength, but then again he spend a lot of time being guarded by PF's. Then maybe you can argue that he had a quickness advantage at the PF spot, but you can't have it both ways.

I think the reason Winslow is underrated is that for some reason he wasn't billed as an elite athlete coming out of HS. Which is just false... if you haven't seen this clip, you must

Mannix's word means literally nothing to me but id actually be surprised if the Celts cant land a top 10 pick with the amount of assets they have. As long as they dont give up Smart or Olynyk to do so i will sleep well tonight.
