He was pretty clearly the best player in NCAA basketball last year, and backed it up in the tournament. That doesn't guarantee anything, but most really good players show it in college. In the final four against Kentucky and Duke, he won the battles against big men everyone says are better than him. Those games weren't outliers either. This guy is a winner.
I have no faith that Kaminsky has the athleticism to make a difference in the NBA. "Pretty clearly the best player in NCAA basketball" frankly doesn't mean much.
