I think all he ever said was that he wouldn't play this 2014-15 season. Has he said anything recently? And of course, if we got a star or 2 and PP came back would Ray consider it? Rondo is gone and Ray knows he is a bench guy now. How bad was that bridge burned?

Well, the Celtics have not re-assigned #20 yet.
Larry Bird was Greater than you think.

Based on comments from Pierce and KG, I have doubts that Pierce would be willing to play alongside Ray Allen again.

After the things Ray said about Boston, I also have my doubts that Ainge would even consider signing him - especially since he left us hanging in free agency and went to the Heat (who eventually knocked us out of the playoffs).

Everybody puts up the professional / business front, but after winning a title together and battling together all those years, I can't imagine a move like that would be something you'd easily forget.

He'd rather spend his time paying 50K to play golf with the President on Martha's Vineyard.

Whether it's here or wherever I'd like to see him play again.

And no matter how ugly the parting was, I have way too many fond memories of Ray, KG and Paul torching folks during those 4 years together.

That game six vs LA 7 years ago, where he scored from everywhere, leading BOS with 26 pts....his clutch drive vs Sasha in that wonderful game 4 in LA.....will NEVER be forgotten.

Whatever Paul said in the last year or so about their time together should not overshadow what those guys accomplished in Green.

I know that to me - it doesn't matter.

The Boston Celtics took the LA Lakers out back to the shed in this game and I loved it.

Ray was my favorite player from that team. With that said, not only is the bridge burned, it fell apart and crumbled.

What did Paul say? From the articles I read it seemed like Ray didn't hang out with the team socially but nothing that would make me think Paul would have any reason to be against playing with him again.

Ray should just sign with the best option mid season. Better chance at a ring that way and save your energy.

There's no indication that PP is considering returning to the C's (let alone playing with Allen).

He said basically what you summarized, but in a much more Paul Pierce type of way, if you catch my drift.

It was the LeBron-Heat knocking the Celtics out in the playoffs and then Ray signed with them.

Ray would then knock out Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett, both who were in Brooklyn uniforms.

That sort of thing usually matters more to fans than players, in the grand scheme of things.

I felt the same way (well, tied with KG). I cannot hate him, but would not wish him back.

Paul on the other hand...
"We do so many defensive drills in practice, I come home and I'm putting the press on my woman, denying her the ball.
Y'all are laughing, but it's sad. I go home and deny the wing."

It's tough for a player to sit out a year with out playing and then come back and be ready to play, especially at his age. That being said, Ray does keep in really good shape, so for a player just expecting to play 10-15 minutes of the bench, there's a couple teams that could use him. I only see him coming back for some warm weather team.

Doubt Danny and Ray are even friendly .

I say Rondo has a far better chance than Ray wearing  Celtic uniform.

I doubt he plays again anywhere unless it is for the Diva Super Club.
