great teamate but his spot should be used to groom a taller  point guard with length  -marcus ,isiah and turner cover the celtics needs-and i would rather have jerebko signed -could we sign bass and trade him

Much depends on what happens with the draft.

It looks paradoxical but it is not: Pressey is the least valuable player in this roster but he is less likely to go than Jerebko or Gigi IMO.

Reason is that a backup PG is a sine qua non.

Look at what happened to Cleveland in this playoffs when in he last game they used Iman Shumpert of all people at the 1; and also at us at the playoffs right after RR's injury.

It sounded like Isaiah was mentoring Pressey late last season. I think Isaiah can be a good influence as an undersized PG who has learned how to be effective in the NBA. It sounded like Isaiah was teaching him.

So, I'd be interested in giving Pressey another year as 3rd string PG to see if (1) that relationship helps push him forward (2) if he can make inroads with his jump-shooting.

If Pressey does, then he is a keeper beyond next season.
If not, well then it's time to move on from him in summer 2016.

I also think Pressey is useful as a 3rd string PG.

I like having him as a pass-first bench guard vs (1) a score-first guard in Thomas (2) a so far limited playmaking & scoring PG in Smart.

Not someone who should play regularly but a nice alternative to have on the bench on those nights where your main guys cannot get the team going. Something different. Give the team a dash of energy, push the tempo and get people involved. All things Pressey does well.

I think that skill-set is useful. Offers something different. Unlikely to find it in a 3rd string PG with legit size (because those guys are getting better job offers and money elsewhere). No need for a super-sized backup PG because Smart has excellent size at PG and even Bradley can slide down and play some PG if absolutely necessary. So I like having that pass-first PG as contrast to Thomas (high usage score first PG) and Smart (defensive player, setup guard, spot up shooter).

Unless you need this fifteen spot for a much more talented player in order to win a championship or Pressey will ask for too much money for his next contract, I don't see him going anywhere.
He's everything you dream about a 3rd PG. When you call his name on the court, he brings energy, solution in offense. I heard he's very important in the gym for the other guys to play 5 on 5. He's a great professional and an example for rookies joining us.

there has been much speculation on how to use draft picks along with roster space but most rookies come with flaws and youth,unless they force their way to playing time -arn't they better off up with red claws working and playing more minutes-maybe wallace could be a player coach up in maine then they would work-just sitting on bench and a few practices here and there didn't help young much
-free agency you can pick up the best of middle or later rounds with experience and still young-wallace for player coach or just coach,he might like that and consider it a promotion vs just sitting another season

If I had to pick between PP and George Lucas(intl point guard) I would want Lucas and use the spot to groom him. If James Young busts out this year then we have no project players.

He costs next to nothing, has an unguaranteed contract and plays his role as a 3rd point guard very well.
So there is absolutely no reason to let him go unless we use him in a trade or really need that roster spot.
