Can anybody tell me what other teams will be in the running to sign him? Im not sure about other teams salary cap situations.

Of course I can't pretend to know but the Lakers and Knicks come to mind.

I actually feel like I am done with Love.  It was fine to chase him when we had Rondo and Green but at this point, I am not really all that interested in paying Love the max.

I hate to say this but the numbers don't lie, we were/are a much better team without Rondo and Green, so why would your interest in Love fade now that they are gone?  I don't think Rondo fit especially well with Love, although I guess that is debatable.

The Celtics should do all they can to get Love.  Instant star power.

It would be infinitely better to pay him the long green, than say, Rondo!

Besides, with Love, and say, Cauley Stein,  the Celtics kick LeBron & Cavs derriere.

if he does sign with the Lakers, what does it do for Cavs in terms of salary flexibility to sign a max free agent?

It does nothing for their ability to sign one outright.  What it does enable them to potentially do is make a sign-and-trade using Brandon Haywood's non-guaranteed $10 million contract as a salary match.  To sign-and-trade, they have to stay below the apron (about $84 million projected).  They can't do that with Haywood's contract and re-sign Love, but they do have that opportunity if he leaves.

If Love stays, they can use Haywood's contract to take back about $12.5 million in salary, and so perhaps they can add another piece that way, especially if there's a useful player who's team is looking for salary relief.  I would totally target Batum were I Cleveland.

If he opts out, will Boston be interested in signing him?

No.  I don't think Boston has ever been linked to Love.
