Javale should have jumped on the invitation by DA to join the Celtics. Just to showcase himself as to being healthy, and reasonably sane. It was an opportunity to show well on national TV.

No...Javale thought it over, being the rocket scientist he is, and wanted more. This guy is his own worst enemy.

I really do not want him after he spurned us prior to the playoffs.

I agree, his behavior just confirm us that his clumsiness with the ball is apparently connected direct with his brain cells. If he wants to come for the vet minimum and prove us wrong, fine, but I don't think that will happen.

Terrible decision-maker on and off the court. Shaqtin' A Fool is going to be his legacy.

maybe that works better.  ;D
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

Think it's a bit harsh to say that he spurned us.

McGee wanted a player option, we wanted a team option. He was exploring his options to showcase himself on a playoff team for a half a season, we were looking to acquire him for 2 years at below market value.

IMO he's a nice fall back option. Once the draft is settled and free agency cools down, we'll have a much better idea of what this team looks like and needs. He'll always be there if we decide we need him. Nobody seems to be knocking other teams over trying to get that shiny new Javale McGee off the shelf(or out of the bargain bin for that matter).

really hard to imagine that he gets more than the minimum from someone not having even been an average player for about 3 years now, and not having played in a more than a handful of games. That team option that he wanted to avoid could very will be the best offer he can hope to get. I think he, or his agent, whoever made the decision to turn down the celtics offer a diservice. He just needed to be on a court getting reps. From what it sounds like he hasn't played in any foreign leagues either. It is hard to imagine not playing organized basketball for 9 months will help him.

I don't know, seems like he could get that offer whenever and from whoever he pleases, and as Evan Turner found out bombing on a playoff team that you joined mid season can be more damaging to your reputation than not playing would have been.

Say he only gets 5 minutes a game in the playoffs and Danny then exercises the team option only to subsequently sell him off mid way through '15/16 Jordan Crawford style. The team then waives his miniscule contract and McGee is back to exactly where he is right now, only now it's 21 months removed from playing serious basketball with another contract buyout to his name.

Danny Ainge will trade anyone and everyone if it means even a minor upgrade to our talent pool, especially if they have a small contract as Tayshon Prince found out this year.

Or he could have buckled down, worked hard, and beat out Ty Zeller for the starting spot. Could have been seen going toe to toe against good competition and been seen as a desirable player.

My thoughts?

What is a guy with these for physical tools, doing not playing at an elite level? What a complete waste.

Yea if he can't get more than 5 minutes on a team that had one guy over 6'9 where is he going to get more than 5 minutes? Brad also plays everyone that worked hard even the midseason acquisitions like jerekbro and luigi got minutes

The difference was about an option year (player vs. team option), and was almost certainly not only McGee's decision.
