I don't know, seems like he could get that offer whenever and from whoever he pleases, and as Evan Turner found out bombing on a playoff team that you joined mid season can be more damaging to your reputation than not playing would have been.

Say he only gets 5 minutes a game in the playoffs and Danny then exercises the team option only to subsequently sell him off mid way through '15/16 Jordan Crawford style. The team then waives his miniscule contract and McGee is back to exactly where he is right now, only now it's 21 months removed from playing serious basketball with another contract buyout to his name.

Danny Ainge will trade anyone and everyone if it means even a minor upgrade to our talent pool, especially if they have a small contract as Tayshon Prince found out this year.

Yea if he can't get more than 5 minutes on a team that had one guy over 6'9 where is he going to get more than 5 minutes? Brad also plays everyone that worked hard even the midseason acquisitions like jerekbro and luigi got minutes

Or he could have buckled down, worked hard, and beat out Ty Zeller for the starting spot. Could have been seen going toe to toe against good competition and been seen as a desirable player.
